"The firepower between the two teams is very different - Tsukishima's team will have to work really hard if they want to try to go head-to-head with that trio," Sugawara observed.
The second set starts with Hinata serving again to try to get an early advantage. He tosses the ball up and serves toward the back of the court, but this time Daichi managed to anticipate it to attempt the receive. However, the ball hit his wrists and flew toward the scoreboard where the rest of the volleyball club was watching the match.
1-0 Hinata's Team
"Hey! Watch where you're sending that ball, you idiots!" Sugawara shouted after dodging the ball that came his way.
"Sorry about that," Hinata said, waving in his direction.
The second serve went toward Daichi again, who tried to receive it but without success, so the ball hit his arms and went out, and the same happened on the third serve.
3-0 Hinata's Team
On the fourth serve, he managed to anticipate again and was in the right spot when the ball was about to hit the ground.
"This one's mine!" he said while managing to receive it and send the ball to Tsukishima for the set, which this time Yamaguchi managed to tap over Hinata and Kageyama's block, scoring a point for his team.
3-1 Hinata's Team
"Thank goodness I managed to get that point," Yamaguchi said, feeling relieved.
"There's no reason to feel relieved yet, you idiot... we're still losing by an entire set!" Tsukishima complained.
"Calm down, everyone, we can still get back in the game, we just need to focus," Daichi said, trying to calm his team.
This time it was Yamaguchi's turn to serve, which was easily received by Tanaka. "Nice receive," said Hinata, who like Tanaka was already preparing to receive Kageyama's pass. Kageyama observed the opposing defense's movement where there was a split, with Daichi trying to solo block Tanaka while Tsukishima tried to do the same with Hinata.
"Either one would possibly be an easy point," Kageyama thought while making a dink shot that caught the opposing team by surprise, so Yamaguchi, who was closest to the ball, couldn't dive in time to prevent the ball from hitting the ground.
4-1 Hinata's Team
"You didn't expect that one, did you, idiot?" Kageyama taunted Tsukishima, who only made a face of displeasure at the point his team had just given up and at receiving Kageyama's provocations.
The next serve was from Kageyama, which was well received by Daichi who managed to make a good pass to Tsukishima, who was in a good position to pass to either of his two teammates. The boy ended up giving a pass on the left to Daichi, who faced a single block from Tanaka who managed to make a great block on Daichi's attack that had tried to hit the ball off Tanaka's fingertips. However, Tanaka was able to direct the ball to the opposing team's floor.
5-1 Hinata's Team
"SORRY CAPTAIN, BUT I CAN'T SHOW MERCY!" Tanaka said while radiating his emotions as he celebrated.
Again Kageyama was positioned to serve, he executed the serve that ended up being received by Yamaguchi, but it ended up going toward Tsukishima very close to the net, so the boy intelligently just tapped the ball before any block could be raised, but Hinata manages to dive and put his hand between the ball and the ground, saving the point and then he quickly got up and waited for Kageyama's pass which was far from the net and high just as he had previously requested and subsequently executed a cross-court spike past Tsukishima's arms and past Daichi's arms who couldn't arrive in time to make the block.
6-1 Hinata's Team
"Kageyama's precise passes along with Hinata's power and technique is definitely something formidable, I feel as if just with their addition our team has risen several levels," Sugawara analyzed.
"I can't wait to see how they would do against a strong team," said Ennoshita.
"Yeah, I feel the same way," Sugawara agreed.
Kageyama served and again it was received by Daichi who manages to make a good pass to Tsukishima who was starting to get impatient with the game situation, he passed to Daichi who jumped and faced a block from Hinata and Kageyama and then he managed to hit the ball off Kageyama's fingertips and make the ball fly to the back of the court but not enough so that Tanaka easily managed to receive and pass to Kageyama.
"We have a good advantage and it's just a friendly match, let's try to do this," he thought, while Hinata seemed to read his mind already preparing to jump, however, again the ball passes through the net before Hinata could hit it.
6-2 Hinata's Team
"Tsk! Didn't work again," Kageyama complained.
"That sucks, haha," said Hinata laughing, enjoying Kageyama's frustration.
"You guys really don't give up on that attack, do you? You're horrible at it, you idiots!" said Tanaka.
"Damn it! These guys are playing with us!" said Tsukishima while looking at the scene irritated.
The game continued with the same dominance from Hinata's team who also gave up some points to the opposing team in attempts to do the super quick, however, when they tried to make serious attacks with Hinata and Tanaka most of the time, Tsukishima's team couldn't stop them even with Daichi's receives, ending the game with a score of 25-11.
"Damn it! In the end we couldn't make the attack work," Kageyama vented.
"You don't need to be so frustrated, we'll have plenty of time to train it," said Hinata.
"Hey, it was a good game!" said Hinata to Tsukishima trying to shake his hand, but he rejected the handshake looking at him with an uncomfortable face.
"It's really impossible to make friends with this guy so soon..." Hinata thought.
"Tsukishima, what's wrong? Didn't you like the game?" asked Daichi.
"Well, it's not like I didn't know we had no chance of winning... so I don't care either way," said Tsukishima.
"And it's not like you weren't playing to win, you seemed quite bothered while we were losing or making mistakes during the game," said Daichi while handing Tsukishima his shirt that he had taken off during the game.
"Well, speaking of shirts... Hey Shimizu, did you get those things?"
"Yes," she said while grabbing a box that when opened contained the Karasuno volleyball club jackets for the first-year students.
Everyone quickly got excited and most decided to try on the jacket except for Tsukishima who, just like in the anime, received a chorus of requests to wear the jacket.
The boys were enjoying the moment until they heard the gym door open.
