The man's stern gaze didn't intimidate Tyson. Instead, it fueled his determination.
"Yes, I understand!" Tyson replied confidently, prepared to face any challenges.
"Good. Rest today and bond with your Pokémon. Remember, a Pokémon isn't just your strength—it's a partner you can trust with your life."
The man paused before adding, "Starting tomorrow, I'll personally train you. Let's see if you can survive."
With that, he smirked as if imagining the grueling trials Tyson would face.
"By the way," he said before leaving, "you can call me Shadow."
"Yes, Master Shadow!"
After being dismissed, Tyson returned to his room and released his Charmander.
A flash of white light revealed the tiny orange Pokémon. Still half-asleep, Charmander looked at Tyson with curious eyes. Its sleepy demeanor melted Tyson's heart.
Suddenly, a voice echoed in Tyson's mind.
"System activated. Congratulations on acquiring your first Pokémon!"
A glowing blue panel appeared before him, visible only to Tyson. The system displayed Charmander's details and listed several tasks:
