章節 17: The Final Preparations

The air buzzed with tension as the group stood huddled in their newly expanded cage, their bodies still buzzing with the aftershocks of the previous battle. The distant sound of drones echoed, reminding them that time was running out. They had 1900 CREDITS left. Every decision from here on out would either make or break them. The weight of it pressed down on them, but there was no room for doubt.

Captain (Reika) broke the silence, her voice cutting through the tension like a blade. "This is it. We need to maximize what we have. Better Gear for everyone. Speed Boosters are a must. And I'll take the Reaction Enhancer. I lead this team, and I'll be damned if I'm not ready to react faster than anyone."

The words hung in the air, sharp and decisive. No more indecision. No more second-guessing. They were going to face whatever horrors awaited them, and they needed to be at their peak. Every ounce of their survival depended on what they did next.

Techie (Haruto), the quiet genius, was already tapping furiously on his BIO. His eyes flicked between the screen and his teammates, scanning the options. "Confirming now," he said, his voice low but steady. Within seconds, a drone appeared, its metallic hum filling the air. The crate dropped to the floor with a soft thud, and the team moved in, ready for whatever came next.

The Better Gear was unlike anything they had ever seen. Sleek. Slim. Seamlessly fitting over their bodies, adjusting to their size with precision. It felt almost alive, as if the material itself was waiting to bond with them. A rush of adrenaline surged as they realized: this wasn't just armor. This was their last chance to make it out of this alive.

The material was harder than diamond—no, harder than anything they had ever imagined. Alien in origin, the suit was forged from something that defied all logic. It shifted, it adjusted, it became one with them. The faceplate, sleek and smooth, slid into place effortlessly, covering them like a second skin. But it wasn't permanent. Using simple brain signals, they could remove it in an instant.

Captain was the first to suit up, her movements sharp and precise. As the gear settled over her body, she flexed her fingers, testing the fit. Then, she grabbed the Reaction Enhancer and attached it to her wrist. The device snapped into place with a satisfying click, and she felt her senses explode. Time seemed to slow, her thoughts becoming razor-sharp. Every twitch, every movement in the environment was now within her grasp. She was ready to lead them into the heart of chaos.

Techie wasn't far behind. He slid into his own Better Gear, the suit hugging his slender frame like it was made for him. He felt the armor mold to his body, its strength pressing against him in all the right ways. His mind raced as he checked the diagnostics. "This is beyond anything I could've imagined," he muttered, his hands working to calibrate the system.

Shadow (Mika) and Ace (Kaito) didn't hesitate. They too donned their Better Gear, their bodies sinking into the protective material. The weight of it felt reassuring, grounding them in the face of the impossible. The faceplates slid into place with a soft hiss, cutting off all outside distractions. They were one with the armor now. They were ready.

Then, Captain, with her sharp eyes and calm voice, slipped the Reaction Enhancer onto her wrist, feeling her thoughts sharpen into crystal clarity. She could already feel the difference. Her mind raced through the possibilities, analyzing every move, every strategy. The world around her seemed to slow. She was no longer reacting. She was anticipating.

The group stood together, their silhouettes now sharp against the dimming skyline. They were no longer just survivors. They were hunters. The Speed Boosters coursed through their bodies, their limbs lighter, faster. Every motion felt like it could break the sound barrier. With the Better Gear, they could now take hits, move with lightning speed, and respond with surgical precision. Every step could be the difference between life and death.

Their Reaction Enhancer was a game-changer, and Captain was the key to making sure they didn't falter. Her mind, now sharper than ever, could predict the smallest shifts in the battlefield. They would move in sync, an unstoppable force.

"We're not just getting out of here," Captain said, her voice low but commanding. "We're winning."

The last of their 0 CREDITS were now spent. There was no more to fall back on. They had made their choices, and now there was nothing left but to fight.

The hum of the drones above grew louder. The next round was approaching. The team exchanged one final look before they moved to position themselves, their minds focused, their bodies ready.

"We go in together," Captain ordered. "And we fight like hell."

And with that, the group stepped forward—into the unknown, armed with the technology of an alien world, their bond stronger than ever.
