Jovana felt the color draining from her face, and she struggled to get some air in without gasping. 'What does he mean by that? Is this a trap? Are we doomed?' she mused silently, and as her panic grew, Jovana felt Caspian's hand squeezing hers under the table.

That simple, friendly contact helped unfreeze her brain. 'I don't know what is going on, but I need to stay calm to keep control. Caspian said that whatever happens, he won't let anyone hurt or imprison me. The king just wants to mess with my head,' Jovana chanted in her mind as she took a deep breath to calm down.
