Jean opened her eyes, and her body could clearly feel that the elemental power and other energies did not exist in this world. However, she didn't feel discomfort. Her 'Vision' was still connected to the Teyvat universe, and the elemental power would continue to flow through it. She could even pray to Lord Barbatos or other gods through her 'Vision.'
What came into view was a group of teenagers and girls staring at her blankly, and further away from the fence was a scene filled with smoke and chaos. Jean, who had long understood the situation in this world, quickly regained her composure. These were the students mentioned in the information provided to her—Busujima Saeko, Miyamoto Rei, and Takagi Saya were the names that stood out.
As the acting head of a knighthood capable of handling a country's affairs, Jean naturally knew what she should do. She extended her hand and made a knightly salute, with a hint of determination in her gentle demeanor. "Jean Gunnhildr, Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. I was sent by the gods to save this world in its apocalypse. I hope you will assist me in this mission."
Busujima Saeko was the first to recover from her stupor. Her heart pounded loudly—God, the supernatural, and unknown power? They truly existed in this world, and now one of their representatives stood right in front of her. Other students also began to react, stunned as they witnessed a scene that belonged in an anime or a legend.
"Leader of the Knights?"
"A savior sent by the gods to this world!"
"A legendary hero! Am I dreaming?"
After digesting what was happening, Saya Takagi hurriedly asked, "The end of the world? Has our world truly entered a countdown to destruction? Why is this happening?"
Miyamoto Rei wiped away the tears on her face. "Lady Jean, the end of the world… what does it mean? Why has it come to this?"
Jean looked at the students who had regained their senses. The wind elemental symbol on the back of her hand glowed. The symbol vanished, and her 'Vision' appeared. It emitted a gentle light, and a dozen strands of wind elemental energy flew towards the students.
The students, seeing the tangible light coming towards them, instinctively covered their eyes. A large amount of information began to appear in their minds—the origins of the apocalypse in this world, the nature of this universe, the role of Jean, and the identity of Barbatos, the god she served. This information was provided to Jean as part of her mission, and her 'Vision' allowed her to temporarily transmit it to others.
The students absorbed the information in a daze and quickly regained their composure. Saya Takagi gritted her teeth. "So that's it! Damn it, the apocalypse was caused by those virus laboratories! Those monsters!"
Miyamoto Rei shivered. "At least 90% of the world's population is going to turn into these monsters…"
The students were terrified by the cause of the apocalypse and the number of lives that would be lost, but Busujima Saeko felt excitement welling up. The realization of the gods' existence thrilled her. In addition, with the apocalypse now in full swing, she no longer had to suppress her desire for combat and violence.
Busujima Saeko spoke up eagerly, "Lady Jean, you were sent to save the world. Please let me accompany you."
The other students were shocked by her statement, but quickly echoed her sentiment.
"Let me follow you, Lady Jean."
"I want to come with you."
"Please don't leave me behind."
Even a fool would understand—in an apocalyptic world, it would be safest to follow a savior sent by the gods.
Saya Takagi hurriedly added, "Lady Jean, my father is the leader of the largest faction in this area and a member of parliament. He can definitely help you, and I want to help as well."
Miyamoto Rei quickly followed, "My father is a police officer. He will definitely be able to assist us."
Jean spoke firmly, "I must make this clear—my purpose is to save the world, and I will only save those who are good. Those who are deemed evil by the gods will not be spared."
Busujima Saeko asked nervously, "Lady Jean, how do we determine who is evil?" She wondered if her dark desires would condemn her.
Jean smiled and raised the 'Skyward Blade' in her hand. "This sword is blessed by the god of breeze and hope, Lord Barbatos. It is an artifact that can distinguish between good and evil. Evil people will be revealed in its presence, and it can only harm those who are wicked. Even if a pure-hearted person is struck by this blade, they won't be harmed."
"The laws of nature and the gods will not allow evil people to enter the new world."
The students processed the information given to them. 'Heavenly principles' referred to the creation gods who made everything in the universe. The gods represented the rules of the world, with Barbatos embodying wind and hope. They understood that the new world would be like the Earth cleansed after the biblical flood—a rebirth.
The students grew excited. They were going to be the chosen followers of the savior, just like Noah's followers boarding the ark. Their eyes glowed with zeal.
Jean spoke, "There is no darkness in any of you—you are all good people. Now, take these swords and join me in saving more people and establishing a new order." She smiled. "You don't need to call me a savior. Just call me Jean or Commander Jean."
Jean's 'Vision' glowed, and with the sound of swords materializing, a dozen silver swords appeared on the ground.
The students eagerly picked up the swords—weapons conjured by the savior, treasures beyond imagination.
"Yes, Commander Jean, we will help save the world, eradicate evil, and bring forth the new world."
"That's right!"
Suddenly, they heard guttural groans—more undead had climbed onto the roof and were now shuffling towards them. Instead of feeling scared, the students felt courage with their legendary weapons in hand and with Jean, the savior, standing beside them.
Jean swung the 'Skyward Blade,' sending a wind blade that tore through the undead, turning them into dust. She sighed inwardly. These creatures were once human. She hoped they would find peace in their next life.
"Everyone, follow me. Let's clear out the undead in this school first. Then, I will teach you the West Wind swordsmanship and form the 'Knights of Favonius.' We will head into the city to save more people."
The students shouted in unison, "Long live Commander Jean!"
