Mondstadt Square
At this moment, in Mondstadt Square, Venti was staring at a woman who looked very similar to Klee, but she was clearly around 17 years old.
These past few days had been difficult for Venti. After returning from the 'God's Realm,' he was happily waiting for Lord Takumi to assign a mission for Mondstadt. He had hoped to take on the role of protagonist and conquer another world.
He even dug up the private stash he had buried in Windrise five hundred years ago to get drunk at Angel's Share.
Although it was a bit disappointing when Mr. Takumi insisted that he pay for his drinks, on the whole, Venti had been quite content.
But before he could fully enjoy himself, he was suddenly informed that the ruthless former Tianli had been resurrected and had become the supervisor of the Teyvat universe once again.
The sky, the earth, the strong wind, the solitary ruler of the high tower—how could he, the God of Freedom, ever live peacefully like this? How could he slack off now?
Before he could recover from this explosive news, he received word that the 'unpredictable' witch had returned to Mondstadt. The news terrified him.
The last time this witch stayed in Mondstadt, she had managed to blow up the ruins of the tower within a month. She even threatened to build some sort of slime-powered factory, capturing Cryo Slimes and Hilichurls as raw materials and energy sources.
He was baffled. How could one person do all of this? Even during Mondstadt's darkest times, the nobles had never been as devious as Alice.
Thankfully, after much persuasion, Alice gave up on her plans.
But who knows what kind of trouble this witch would cause now that she was back? If he wasn't careful, Mondstadt could be plunged into chaos.
Even if it didn't escalate enough to alarm Lord Takumi, the people of Mondstadt would suffer.
Alice put her hands on her hips, looking frustrated at the wind god who was watching her like a hawk. "Bard, you've been following me all this time. When will you let me wander around freely by myself?"
"Really, I don't know what's gotten into the Seven Archons. I just want to stroll around, and everyone treats me like a thief."
"Last time, I merely blew up a ruined tower, changed the course of a river in Liyue, and trimmed some of the Raiden Shogun's hair. What's the big deal?"
Venti looked innocent. "What? Ms. Alice, I wasn't following you." He spread his hands innocently. "I just happened to be going this way."
At that moment, a blonde girl in a Knights uniform came running over in a hurry, her breathing uneven.
"Venti... Ms. Alice, have either of you seen Klee?"
Jean was in a panic. When she was correcting documents in her office, Klee was still with Barbara. But when she finished, Klee was gone. Barbara thought Klee had gone to Jean.
If no one was watching, Klee was likely to sneak out of Mondstadt.
Jean wasn't worried that Klee would be harmed by monsters or bad people; she was more worried about Klee's bombs hurting others.
Although Klee had almost no record of hurting anyone, what if it happened?
Alice said proudly, "Oh, Klee? She said she wanted to go out and test the gift I gave her. It's probably about to explode now, but don't worry, Jean. The gift I gave her can't harm Klee."
Jean suddenly had a bad feeling. Her voice trembled. "Gift? Explosion? Ms. Alice, what kind of gift did you give Klee?"
Venti was also in a panic. He had been keeping an eye on the witch, but it seemed he'd made a mistake. His eyes widened. "Did you give Klee a very powerful bomb?"
Alice put her hands on her hips, looking pleased with herself. "Haha, yes, but it's not just any powerful bomb."
Venti wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, and Jean sighed in relief.
"Fortunately, it's not a very powerful bomb..."
But before they could finish their relief, Alice's next words made their hearts drop.
"It's a super nuclear bomb with devastating power, hahaha."
"I made this super nuclear bomb based on a planet-destroying weapon from another world. I painstakingly merged the seven elemental powers, then conducted dozens of tests with demons in the dark sea to finally perfect it."
"The most powerful nuclear bomb is comparable to the ones on Blue Star. One explosion would wipe out an entire city like Mondstadt."
Venti and Jean felt as if they had been drenched with icy water on a hot day, freezing from the outside in.
Both of them screamed, "What—?!"
***
Alice thought they were marveling at the power of the bomb she made, and she waved her hands modestly. "No need to worship me like that. I still think the elemental nuclear bomb has a lot of room for improvement. If I solve the problem of elemental fusion, its power could be doubled."
Jean's hands clutched her head, her voice horrified. "Ms. Alice! Why would you give such a dangerous thing to Klee? We must get Klee back immediately!"
Alice looked at the frightened wind god and Jean strangely. "Klee's genes are exactly the same as mine. Of course, she'd like the same things I do. What's so strange about that?"
Jean was desperate. Ms. Alice's way of thinking was different from that of normal people. No wonder she was known as a witch.
"I'll go get Klee back. Jean, why don't you... go shopping with Ms. Alice for now."
Venti was about to transform into the thousand winds to bring back the 'explosive sun' when he froze in place, cold sweat dripping down his back.
In his blue eyes was the reflection of a young man holding little Klee.
Venti instantly became humble and flattering, laughing dryly. "Oh, isn't this Lord Takumi? Look at me, you've come to Mondstadt, and I didn't greet you in advance."
*Damn it, Lord Takumi must have caught me slacking off just now.* Cold sweat poured down Venti's forehead.
Jean came to her senses and, seeing Klee, didn't notice anything strange about the wind god's expression. She hurried over.
"Klee! You scared me to death. Where did you go?"
Alice's red eyes showed a hint of curiosity as she saw her daughter being held by a strange young man.
*Huh? What's with this young man? Why do I feel an inexplicable sense of intimacy and majesty, along with a tinge of fear?* It was as if being hostile to him would lead to her demise.
*Such contradictory feelings... Even demons have never made me feel this way.*
*Incredible. According to my experience, this young man must be no ordinary person.*
Klee waved happily when she saw Jean and Alice. "Captain Jean, Mom, I brought Daddy back!"
Venti was so startled that he almost spat out the wine from last night.
Jean was stunned. "Huh?"
Alice looked confused. "What... Daddy?"
