章節 85: 85- Sirius learns to use an Einherjar

Later that morning, Ériu stretched her arms, the air around her rippling with energy as she prepared to train.

The meadow near the mountain provided plenty of space for destruction, the grass was already dried in patches from earlier sessions. The faint glimmer of melting ice still clung to the cave entrance behind them, a testament to their prior training's ferocity.

Sroka lounged on a weathered couch dragged to the edge of the field, her chin resting on her hand as she watched the sparring unfold. Now that she understood the Fomoire queen wasn't an enemy and this was just practice, she no longer felt uneasy watching Ériu deliver blow after blow to her parents.

Sirius staggered back, his breathing ragged. His face twisted with frustration as Ériu's mists closed in around him again, seeping into every crevice like a living thing. No matter how he tried to push them back, the swirling fog slipped through his defenses, mocking his every move.

"You're hesitating," Ériu called out, her voice sharp but not unkind. "You can't fight the mists with brute force. They're smarter than that."

Sirius gritted his teeth, lunging forward again, his sword slicing through the air in a desperate attempt to part the fog. It was like trying to catch smoke with his hands—every slash only seemed to make the mists thicken and swirl closer.

On the sidelines, Sroka smirked. "He's not going to win, is he?" she muttered, more to herself than anyone else.

Ériu's eyes flicked toward Sroka, her lips curling into a knowing smile before she turned back to Sirius. "Stop thinking like a beast. Think like the death angel you are."

Sirius froze, lowering his sword slightly. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Ériu didn't answer. Instead, she raised her hand, and a ripple of magic flowed toward him. Instinctively, he braced himself, but instead of pain, he felt something stir deep within—an unfamiliar pulse of power awakening.

"That," Ériu said, her voice almost playful, "is something you should have learned long ago. You're more than just a vampire Sirius you're called by Hel herself. Just like gods and Valkyrie, you have the power to wield an Einherjar."

"What's an Einherjar?" Sirius asked, still gripping his sword, his eyes narrowing with suspicion.

Ériu gestured toward Saoirse, who had been standing nearby, watching silently. "Your mate. How will you protect her in battle if she is with child? You can forge her life force into a weapon—a spirit weapon, to be precise. She has unique abilities, and with her consent, you can summon her as part of your arsenal."

Saoirse's eyes widened. "Wait. What?"

Ériu chuckled. "It's not as terrifying as it sounds. Watch."

Before either of them could protest, Ériu whispered an incantation. Sirius felt a sudden tug in his chest, as if the thread connecting him to Saoirse had been plucked. He glanced toward her just as her body shimmered, her form dissolving into a cascade of icy light that coalesced into his hand.

When the light cleared, he was holding a gleaming ice sword, its edges glinting with frost that seemed to hum with Saoirse's energy.

Sirius stared at the blade, stunned. He could feel her—Saoirse—alive and aware, connected to him in a way he couldn't describe. The weight of the weapon wasn't just physical; it carried her essence, her strength, her life.

"See?" Ériu said, crossing her arms. "She's safe. The babies aren't jostled, and her magic is perfectly intact. As they develop, if they inherit magic, they too could become Einherjar. But…" Her tone darkened slightly. "This isn't something you can sustain for long. You don't have the magical strength to support Saoirse's life force in this state indefinitely. You'll need to train harder if you want to wield more Einherjar in the future."

Sirius's grip tightened on the hilt of the ice sword. He could feel the limits of his power already, a faint strain tugging at the edge of his consciousness. It drained him holding onto her ice powers.

The blade shimmered, and Saoirse reappeared beside him, slightly dazed but unharmed. "You could have warned me!" she exclaimed, placing a hand on her belly protectively.

"I didn't have time," Ériu said with a shrug. "Besides, you're stronger than you think."

Sirius looked at Saoirse, then back at Ériu. His frustration hadn't entirely subsided, but beneath it was a glimmer of determination. "If this is what it takes to protect them," he said quietly, "then teach me."

This morning Saoirse had already finished training. Yes she would be pregnant but she hadn't felt the need to be careful since it wasn't even information she should have and the babies hadn't implanted or anything.

"Besides, they say in pregnancy to keep doing what you've always done so….."

Saoirse laughed at her joke but Sirius didn't.

"Why so serious, Sirius?" She had said smugly.

And so he had let her train.

Now she was in his mind again. No matter how much Sirius was moving, it didn't even shake her. It was incredible.

"Why does daddy not dodge her better?" Sroka said after a while. She had figured out the pattern long ago to how this woman fought and even if he couldn't hit her, at least he should've been dodging.

He swung the ice sword around furiously, but it didn't matter. The fomoire then appeared behind him, popping her head out of the mist to slash him in the shoulder with her sword. He yelled in pain. It was ice sword against mist. But Ériu's sword had frozen when coming into contact with Sirius' eingerjar weapon. It emitted a clash sound as the water vapor froze and shattered.

Then Ériu would be gone again. It didn't take long for Sroka to figure it out.

"He hasn't ever been very good at figuring out people's attack styles." Saoirse responded, "when we were in school, he was bullied a lot even though he was Alastor's son because people knew he couldn't stand up for himself, and Alastor said he deserved it for being weak.

"I don't think I want alastor to be my grandpa." Sroka said pinching her nose.

"He doesn't have to be your grandpa." Saoirse responded, "he doesn't even want to be daddy's father so he doesn't need to know about you. Maybe he would feel threatened by you. You're safer that way, you and Lachlan."

"I miss Taz." Sroka said. "At this rate, daddy will take years to go find him."

"Well it might seem slow," saoirse admitted. She rubbed her head as Sirius got knocked out for the fourth time today. She hadn't felt it, she just saw.

"Then what do you suggest we do to help him?"

"Maybe you can focus!" Sirius grumbled. "You know I can't focus with you women talking!" He complained. "Especially talking about me!"

Sroka scrunched her nose, "I can't just go do it for him" she said. Then her eyes got wide, "maybe I can!"

She stood up and walked over to Sirius, who when he was unconscious, he was easy to manipulate and she jumped into his body becoming an Einherjar. Everyone was astonished that she figured a way to do that being just a mere child. Now she was more connected to him and she smacked herself across the face. His spirit woke up at the sudden pain and Saoirse yelped in pain as well.

He had regained consciousness in the outside world suddenly and was very confused at what just happened to him.

"How did you do that?!" Saoirse said rubbing her face where a red mark had appeared. "I've never felt pain inside of Sirius' mind before!"

Let's do this. I'm gonna puppet him, "I'm going to tell you guys what he can do with this body of his."
