章節 71: 71 The Queen wants me to be a monster part 2

The Fomoire Queen's face paled, her lips trembling as Sirius revealed his father's identity. He had expected that reaction—it was the whole point.

"You see," Sirius said, his voice steady but his eyes pleading, "Taz might be a dangerous curse, but he's also my strength. Without him, I can't defeat Alastor. And that's my duty—to all of us."

For a moment, Ériu said nothing, her sharp gaze cutting through him like a blade. Then she let out a weary sigh. "If you truly are the boy of the prophecy, then the situation is dire indeed. Loki must know how pathetically weak you are. Yes… he must." She muttered something under her breath, then groaned, "Oh, Norns help us all."

"I could just crush him now," growled the hulking man beside Sirius, his fists flexing eagerly.

"Enough!" Ériu snapped, waving him off with regal authority. "Scatter the bones of Odin. He must not awaken before his time. We'll need every second to salvage what's left of this boy."

Sirius bristled. "Hey! I'm right here, you know!"

"SILENCE!" The queen's voice cracked like thunder. "Or I'll throw you into my labyrinth and see how long your witless tongue keeps you alive."

His retort died on his lips. "Who are you, anyway?" he muttered, suddenly wary.

Ériu straightened, her presence filling the room. "I am Ériu, goddess of Ireland, the very land is named after me. The kings of Ireland always marry the goddess of the land. I was married to Balor, though now—thanks to your beast—that balance is shattered.

"A goddess?" Sirius asked, startled. "Are you one of the Aesir?"

Ériu scoffed, her disdain palpable. "Hardly. I am Tuatha Dé Danann, a far older and nobler race. We do not seek to dominate as the Aesir do—we guide, we protect. The Aesir's greed will be their downfall."

Sirius hesitated, digesting her words. "I'm descended from Loki," he admitted. "But we're not really Aesir either, Loki is a Vanir, a frost giant. Odin merely adopted him as a means to gain more power. His son Fenrir fought back, and we've been cast out ever since. Fenrir was my grandfather."

Ériu nodded grimly. "And now you understand. The gods' thirst for power spares no one. Your beast—Taz, you call him? He is also a relic of a fallen realm. I can tell he isn't a dragon."

"Nidavellir," Sirius whispered. "He told me he's from Nidavellir."

Ériu nodded her head. "Though it's impossible. Odin crushed them during the Great War."

Sirius's heart sank. "His entire race is extinct?"

Her expression softened, just slightly. "If Taz is truly the last, then you carry the weight of his legacy. But know this, Sirius—your survival thus far has been luck. Odin won't make the same mistake again. If you fall, Taz's legacy dies with you."

"Then will you give him back to me?" Sirius's desperation boiled over. "You can't keep him from me—I'm the crowned prince!"

Ériu's eyes blazed with fury. In one swift motion, she drew a hilt from her waistband. Mist coalesced into a shimmering blade, its tip pressing against Sirius's chest, drawing a bead of blood.

"DO NOT PRESUME TO COMMAND ME, CHILD!" she thundered. "I AM ABOVE YOU!"

"I'm not a child!" Sirius growled, though his voice wavered under her fiery gaze.

"Then prove it." Ériu lowered the blade but didn't sheath it. "I've imprisoned your beast in Slidir. If you want him back, you'll face my trials. I will train you, forge you into something worthy of his power. Only then will I allow your reunion."

Her voice softened, but her eyes remained steely. "Your beast killed my husband, Balor, and upended my kingdom. You've taught him nothing of strategy or control. Without it, you're nothing but chaos."

Sirius swallowed hard. "And you think you can teach me?"

Ériu smirked faintly. "That is my burden now. Loki knew this future would come. That's why he sent me here."

Sirius blinked. "Wait—Loki? But I thought you didn't follow the Norse pantheon."

Her face darkened. "I don't. My allegiance is mine alone, boy. Ask no more of my life."

She turned, the mist swirling around her like a storm and suddenly she was gone.

The fomoire men had left to fulfill her wishes, leaving Sirius alone with the Valkyrie bones and Nanna's.

As he glanced at them, he noticed that the bones of Nanna had begun to glow slightly. A viscous black liquid oozed from them, like the black blood of the Vanir. It formed itself into flesh, changing color to match Nanna's skin tone.

Sirius' eyes widened. Im unprotected! He exclaimed. Panic filling him. He flitted and flitted, but his beast was still gone. He was merely a normal vampire.

What can a vampire even do? I've relied on shifting my whole life.

Nanna's chest rose and fell, still limbless and headless, it mimicked life.

Tendons and veins formed on the limbs, crawling up them like vines and snapping into place.

Her face began to form.

No…No! I will not let this happen. His whole body wanted to run away; but he didn't.

He picked up Odin's sword and slashed the corpse into pieces before they could connect to each other.

"Aaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!" He screamed as it started coming back together again. He screamed "Aaaahhhhhh!!!!!!" As he wacked at it. "I want to get Taz back! I will not run away this time! I will not let you resurrect!" He cried. Kicking her head away.

Then he heard a thud. Nanna's head bounced off of air as if there were some invisible barrier it had crashed into.

He picked it up and threw it again. Only for it to come back. He threw it in different directions suddenly. Kicking the rest of the bones different ways to prevent them from reforming.

He ran towards the barrier and beat on it with his hands. It was solid. Taz was gone and he was trapped in here with Nanna.
