The sun hung high in the sky as Kael made his way toward the central tent, flanked by Gerald and Alexander.

The summons had come early that morning an invitation to a high council meeting convened by the King himself.

It was unusual, to say the least. Barons were rarely involved in such matters, yet Kael had been explicitly called to attend.

As they approached, Kael noticed the grandeur of the tent, larger and more heavily guarded than before.

Soldiers bearing the sigils of dukes, counts, and the royal family stood at attention.

Kael adjusted his cloak, the weight of the summons heavy on his mind.

"You're making waves, my lord," Gerald murmured as they neared the entrance. "No other baron was called to this meeting. You're being watched."

Kael nodded. "Let them watch. I've no intention of being underestimated."

The guards stepped aside as Kael entered the tent.
