33.33% My Part-time Girlfriend / Chapter 4: 3.1

章節 4: 3.1

Whew, I missed a subject. Not just any subject, but the second-to-last one of the day. And why? Because I ended up in the wrong room. Twice. You'd think by now I'd have memorized where my classroom is, but nope. This university is way too big.

It's going to hurt my grades, sure. But honestly? Who cares? I'm not exactly top student material. Anyway, now I'm in the final subject of the day, and I'm bored out of my mind. The clock ticks on, and all I can think about is going home.

The bell rings, snapping me out of my trance. Finally, freedom. I grab my bag and head for the door, already fantasizing about collapsing into bed. But, ugh, why am I still thinking about Kaori? I barely even know her, and she definitely doesn't care about me.

Shaking my head, I make my way toward the exit when—

"Hey, Yuto, right?"

A voice stops me in my tracks. I turn around and freeze. It's her—the same girl who confessed earlier today and got rejected by that popular guy. The class secretary.

"Uh, yeah," I reply, caught off guard.

"Remember me?" she asks with a playful smile, the same teasing tone I heard earlier when she caught me spying.

"Uh… yeah," I stammer, trying not to make a fool of myself again.

"Yuto? What's wrong? You're not thinking any weird, R18 thoughts, are you?"

"What?! No, of course not!"

Great. I'm flustered, and she knows it. Is this girl's hobby making me squirm?

"Relax. Look at you—you're blushing," she teases.

"I'm not!"

"Just kidding." She giggles before tilting her head thoughtfully. "By the way, you didn't show up for the subject before this one. What happened?"

Wait… she noticed I wasn't there? A girl actually noticed me? No, stop it, Yuto. Don't get delusional.

"Oh, uh… I kinda… got lost. Ended up in the wrong room," I admit, scratching the back of my neck.

She chuckles. "I see." After a pause, she smiles. "Since you missed the lecture, want to study together? I can go over the material with you."

Study… together? With her? My brain goes into overdrive, and my heart feels like it's trying to escape my chest.

"If I'm not bothering you," she adds. "We can go to the library. It's quiet there."

"N-No! It's not a bother at all. Sure, let's study!" I blurt out, trying to sound casual while screaming internally.

We head to the library, which is eerily quiet. It's just the two of us, and the silence feels… intense.

She spreads out her notes and starts explaining the topic I missed. Surprisingly, she's a really good teacher. For once, I actually get what's going on in class.

Time flies by, and before I know it, the sunlight streaming through the windows has turned orange and pink.

"The sun's setting," she says, closing her notebook. "Maybe we should call it a day?"

"Yeah, probably," I reply, glancing at the clock.

It's 5:40 PM. Oh no. I missed my favorite anime. But… you know what? Spending time with her was totally worth it.

"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow," she says, heading toward the door.

"Yeah, see ya," I reply, watching her go.

She reaches for the handle, but then—

"What?" she mutters. Her voice wavers as she turns back to me. "Y-Yuto, I think this door won't open."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean it's locked," she says, panic creeping into her tone.

Locked?

Wait, are we… stuck in here?
