Amelia stood in the quiet of her room, staring at her reflection in the mirror. Her eyes were puffy from crying earlier, but now they were dry, She let out a long breath, running her fingers through her hair.

"No more tears," she whispered to herself. "I don't have to cry for a man who doesn't even love me."

A smile slowly spread across her lips, and for the first time that night, it felt genuine. If Enzo didn't care about her, why should she care about him? Why should she let him hold that power over her?

Her gaze shifted to the small wardrobe in the corner of the room, and a thought struck her. Tonight was supposed to be a party—a lewd one, no less. Enzo loved to flaunt his wealth and charm, and the house would be filled with people basking in his decadence.

Amelia's smile widened. If this was going to be one of those parties, then she would make the best of it. She had no intention of sulking in her room while life carried on downstairs.
