75% Blue Lock: Limitless / Chapter 27: "How does Isagi do it?"

章節 27: "How does Isagi do it?"

Team Z sat around the long cafeteria table.

Their plates piled high with food.

The mood was relaxed.

And a hum of light banter filled the air as they dug into their meals.

The physical exhaustion of the day seemed to dissolve.

In the warmth of camaraderie and the hearty dinner.

Halfway through the meal.

Naruhaya set down his fork and looked across the table at Isagi.

A curious gleam in his eyes.

"Hey, Isagi."

He called out.

Breaking the rhythm of casual conversation.

Isagi glanced up mid-bite.

Tilting his head.

"What's up?"

Naruhaya leaned forward.

"How do you do it?"

He asked bluntly.

Isagi raised an eyebrow, confused.

"Do what?"

"You know, score all the time. Stay ahead in every match."

Naruhaya clarified, waving his fork for emphasis.

The room fell quiet as everyone paused mid-chew.

Turning their attention to the conversation.

The question seemed to resonate with all of them.

It was true—Isagi had been the standout player.

Since he took the reins of the team.

He'd led them with precision and skill.

Scoring the most goals and be the MVP in the last two matches.

While everyone had acknowledged his contributions silently.

Naruhaya was the first to voice the collective curiosity.

Isagi smiled faintly and continued eating.

The silence lingered until he finally swallowed his bite and set down his utensils.

"It's my weapon."

He said, his voice calm but confident.

"Your weapon?"

Naruhaya echoed, intrigued.

"Yeah."

Isagi explained.

"It's my ability to scan the field. I can read the positions of everyone on the pitch and predict their next moves. It helps me stay one step ahead."

He paused.

"…My range of vision and understanding of the game let me find the best options and act before anyone else realizes what's happening."

The group nodded in unison.

Their curiosity shifting into a mix of envy and admiration.

"That's... insane."

Naruhaya muttered.

His tone a mix of awe and resignation.

"That takes crazy intelligence and awareness."

Chigiri added.

Tapping his fork against his plate.

"Not something you can just teach someone."

"Kuon's the only one here who could probably come close."

Kira mused, glancing towards him.

Kuon gave a modest shrug but didn't argue.

"It's not just understanding the game, though. It's the guts to act on it. That's what makes Isagi dangerous."

The table collectively sighed.

A mix of respect and frustration.

They returned to their meals.

The sound of clinking silverware resuming as casual conversations branched off.

Suddenly, Kira glanced toward a group of players sitting at a table to their right.

"Hey, isn't that Team Y?"

He asked, gesturing subtly with his chin.

Everyone turned, recognizing the familiar jerseys.

The players were quietly eating, seemingly unaware of the scrutiny.

"Looks like it!"

Bachira said.

His eyes narrowing with curiosity.

"They might be our next opponents."

Kuon whispered.

"We've already faced against Team X and Team W. That leaves Team Y or Team V for our next match."

The group nodded thoughtfully, murmuring among themselves.

The atmosphere became slightly tense.

A mix of anticipation and competitive energy filling the air.

Then, without warning, Raichi stood up abruptly.

"What are you doing?"

Imamura hissed.

Raichi smirked.

"Getting a closer look."

He said, already heading toward Team Y's table.

"Here we go again…"

Chigiri muttered.

Shaking his head.

The others exchanged glances as Raichi approached Team Y.

His swagger unmistakable.

"Let's see what happens."

Isagi murmured.

An amused glint in his eyes.

They all leaned slightly to watch.

Curious and bracing for the inevitable chaos that seemed to follow Raichi wherever he went.

Raichi strutted toward Team Y's table.

His smirk plastered on his face.

Like he had already won whatever verbal battle he was about to start.

Team Y's players were mid-bite.

Their chatter halting as they noticed his approach.

Their leader, a sharp-eyed striker with split black and blond hair at the center.

Raised an eyebrow, setting down his drink.

His name was Okawa.

"What do you want?"

Okawa asked coolly.

Raichi crossed his arms.

His grin widening.

"Just wanted to see what the competition looks like up close. You know, size up the next team we're gonna crush."

One of Team Y's players.

A tall, lanky defender, scowled.

"You think you've got this in the bag already?"

"Pretty much."

Raichi shot back without hesitation.

"We've taken out tougher teams than you."

Back at Team Z's table.

Bachira leaned toward Isagi.

Whispering loud enough for the group to hear.

"Do you think Raichi even realizes he's not the team's best player?"

Isagi chuckled.

"He's not one for subtlety, that's for sure."

Meanwhile, the tension between Raichi and Team Y was growing.

"Big talk for someone who wasn't even the top scorer in your last game."

The defender shot back.

Earning a ripple of amusement from his teammates.

Raichi bristled, taking a step closer to their table.

"Keep laughing. Let's see who's smiling when we're the ones moving on to the next stratum."

Okawa stood up slowly.

His calm demeanor unshaken.

He was tall and broad-shouldered.

A natural leader who commanded attention with his quiet intensity.

"Save it for the field."

He said, his voice even.

"You'll need more than words to beat us."

The two teams locked eyes for a tense moment.

Before things could escalate.

Kunigami's voice cut through the air.

"Raichi, sit down."

Raichi turned back to see Kunigami standing, his expression firm.

Behind him, Isagi gave a small shake of his head.

"Come on, Raichi."

Imamura called.

Trying to lighten the mood.

"You're scaring them!"

With a reluctant huff, Raichi backed off.

"Fine. Just don't say I didn't warn you."

He muttered, turning back to Team Z's table.

As he sat down, Bachira grinned.

"You almost started a war over there~!♪"

"They needed to know what's coming."

Raichi said.

Shoving a forkful of food into his mouth.

Isagi, shaking his head.

Shifted his focus back to his plate.

"Let's focus on training. Trash talk won't win us the match."

"Agreed."

Chigiri added.

"We need to be ready for anything. Team Y doesn't look weak."

"Especially their leader."

Kira said thoughtfully.

"He's got that look—like someone who's not afraid to get his hands dirty."

Kuon nodded.

"From what I've heard, Team Y is methodical. They rely on strategy as much as individual skill. If we underestimate them, it'll cost us."

The table fell quiet.

The weight of the upcoming match settling over them.

After a moment, Bachira broke the silence.

His usual playful grin back in place.

"Well, at least we've got Isagi's weapon to keep us alive."

Isagi smirked.

"Don't rely on me too much."

"Too late~!♪"

Bachira sang.

Earning a round of chuckles.

The rest of the meal passed without incident, but the tension lingered.

As Team Z finished their dinner and headed back to the shared room.

The unspoken agreement was clear.

They would bring everything they had to the next match.

Because in Blue Lock, every game was do or die.
