"Not only has the direct attack stat improved, but the first two Effects have become better, and the third Effect has fully solidified," Cassius commented with a hint of contentment. "I was a little worried that I wouldn't have anything to test the new and improved Lilith on, but it seems my worries were unnecessary…"

*Rustle, rustle, rustle.*

Dozens of fuzzy, gnarly heads emerged from the nearby dug-out cavern holes. Numerous E+ Tall Kobold Elites bared their bloody fangs, clearly returning from a prosperous hunt. They seemed satisfied with the human meal they had just shared with their superiors—yet there appeared to be one who lagged behind. And who were they to deny a free meal?

Cassius's eyes glowed coldly. "Bunch of mangy mutts," he scoffed before collecting his Magic Shards from the scattered corpses.

After calmly storing them all away, he shifted his gaze between the gathered E+ Tall Kobold Elites. He noticed the fresh blood drizzling from their disgusting mouths, almost instantly putting two and two together.

His eyes flashed colder, yet he maintained his composure. 'Even if they were fellow humans, this is no longer my previous world,' he thought apathetically, his tone devoid of emotion. 'Surviving is no longer differentiated between race, nationality, religion, or ethnicity… It is simply surviving. And those Hunters simply weren't able to survive.'

Cassius unlatched the separate pieces of Lilith, letting them sway with a dangerous flow. "I, however, will not allow myself to die."

"Graaghh!!!" Ten Tall Kobold Elites bellowed furiously, just now noticing the corpses of their fallen brethren strewn about. 'You will die!!!' they seemed to say as they rabidly leapt at him, sharp claws prepared to gouge out his throat.

Yet, in the same instant that a good chunk of the Tall Kobold Elites cornered him, Cassius lightly spun his wrist, causing Lilith to whip around. Then, under the horrified eyes of the remaining twenty-five Tall Kobold Elites, the ten who ran out first were diced into bloody chunks.

A cold gleam passed through Cassius's piercing blue eyes as he beckoned Lilith to visibly shrivel up the deceased Kobolds and absorb their blood.

*Ding!*

[|Devil Blade: Lilith| has absorbed several hundred gallons of E+ Common monster blood!]

While glancing over the most recent system notifications, Cassius planted his feet into the ground. Then he blurred.

When he left the speed stream, Lilith's jagged edges had already sunk into the skin of another fifteen Tall Kobold Elites. Just like the fifteen that came before, they too were squeezed of their lifeforce.

POP! POP! POP!

"Although you bunch are quite strong, you simply aren't… fast enough," Cassius uttered while casually looking at the bloody catastrophe left in his wake. "I must commend you on your ability to continue fighting even despite the odds, though."

"Rooorgghhh!!!" The remaining ten Tall Kobold Elites roared at the top of their lungs.

Yet that made no difference…

SHING! SHING!

Cassius effortlessly spun his dominant arm around a few times, sending the magnetic pieces of Lilith spiraling through the tough outer hides of the Kobolds. Yet, as if they were as soft as pudding, Lilith's edges sliced through them, creating a magnificent bloody spectacle.

Cassius's body cracked audibly as he relaxed, calming his immense speed. After assuaging his active cells, he searched through the corpses of the Tall Kobold Elites and collected their Magic Shards.

During the same time, a couple of system notifications rang out:

*Ding!*

[You have killed 35 E+ Tall Kobold Elites!]

[Your Experience Bar has moderately moved!]

[|Devil Blade: Lilith| has devoured thousands of gallons of E+ Common monster blood!]

[|Devil Blade: Lilith| - |Attack +4|]

Cassius's brows creased in slight disappointment. "No level up even after killing so many of them, and my bar is only a tenth of the way filled," he lamented. "...Well, I guess a level up arriving so easily wouldn't make any sense, especially not when it comes to this masochist system…"

Speaking of the devil…

—[The strike force sent by the Hot Hawaiian Soup D-Rank Hunter Guild has been wiped out by the unusually powerful Kobolds. But there was one survivor… A young raven-haired girl who was secretly brought along to experience a 'safe' Gate by her father, the Squad Captain, John.]

—[Save the girl known as Memphis, and be rewarded for your heroism with the tiniest bit less disdain by the system!]

[Hint: She has been brought back to the Kobold King's Lair in the deepest depths of the Kobold Catacombs, all so as to service him and produce heirs. (Have a heart.)]

[Reward 1: Slightly less disdain from the Idle Evolution System]

[Reward 2: 5 AP]

[Reward 3: The gratitude of a pretty girl who is about to awaken as an S-Rank Awakener] – (Don't make this weird…)

[Upon Failure: Just kill yourself at this point. You have no reason left to live in this world, you deplorable scum ^_^]

Cassius's face maintained a blank look for a few seconds, as something inside him told him the system was judging him. 'Does it think I am a perverted criminal or something…? Why is it always doing this…? Haiz…'

Ultimately, he shook his head with a sigh and accepted the quest before sliding the screen to the right. He was quite interested in what a future S-Rank Awakener would look like, so he would have done it with or without the additional rewards.

Though, they did wonders to soothe his poverty-stricken heart…
