With a faint ripple of invisible energy, a layer of dark red chakra appeared over his body—it was the Tailed Beast Cloak.
Baishi glanced at his skin, which was beginning to corrode under the influence of the chakra, and growled, "Get back inside!"
As he spoke, the Four Symbols Seal on his abdomen manifested. Instantly, the Tailed Beast Cloak dissipated, and his body began to heal rapidly under the effects of his Self-Healing ability.
Inside his mind, the Nine-Tails roared angrily, "You brat, I'll devour you!"
Baishi's tone remained calm as he replied, "Mm, I know."
The Nine-Tails let out a frustrated roar, which echoed loudly in Baishi's mind.
Irritated by the noise, Baishi rubbed his temples and muttered, "I need to deal with this issue quickly, or I'll lose my mind."
While the thought of being driven insane by the Nine-Tails was a jest, the real problem was far more pressing. The Nine-Tails continuously attempted to breach the seal, causing its chakra to leak and form the Tailed Beast Cloak.
This interference not only disrupted Baishi's control over his chakra but also forced him to expend additional energy when using jutsu. For techniques like the Flying Thunder God, which consumed significant chakra—especially over long distances—this was a critical issue.
To evade Minato Namikaze and others, Baishi had used the Flying Thunder God to traverse from Konoha's northern border to its eastern coastline. The extensive use of the technique, coupled with the earlier battle, had drained his chakra reserves to about a third.
Although this amount would still be vast compared to an average ninja, he also had to constantly suppress the Nine-Tails.
In the past, Naruto Uzumaki had to allocate 96% of his chakra to suppress half of the Nine-Tails, even with the superior Eight Trigrams Seal. Comparatively, Baishi was managing an entire Nine-Tails with a weaker Four Symbols Seal.
If not for his robust physique and the inherent restraint of Wood Release over Tailed Beast chakra, he would have long lost control.
However, Baishi couldn't afford to divert all his chakra to suppressing the beast. With Konoha and Obito likely searching for him, a confrontation could occur at any moment. Without sufficient chakra, he would be in grave danger.
Baishi resolved to stabilize the situation. He needed to strengthen the seal to contain the Nine-Tails more effectively.
Standing at the coastline, Baishi scanned the ocean with his senses and locked onto a marked fish. Without hesitation, he activated the Flying Thunder God and disappeared from the spot.

"Kid, are you trying to get yourself killed?"
Sensing the sudden change in surroundings, the Nine-Tails sounded bewildered. To the beast, humans were fragile creatures who couldn't survive long underwater.
But Baishi ignored the taunt and continued descending into the ocean's depths.
Minutes later, he reached the seabed.
"This should do."
He whispered to himself, settling into a cross-legged position and forming hand seals.
Sensing an imminent threat, the Nine-Tails began thrashing violently and shouted, "Stop! What are you doing?"
"Hey! I said stop!"
Ignoring the beast's protests, Baishi placed his hands on his abdomen.
In an instant, the Four Symbols Seal began to glow. Layers of sealing symbols unfolded and expanded, forming an intricate pattern. Another Four Symbols Seal intertwined with the existing one, creating a much more robust Eight Trigrams Seal.
As the new seal locked into place, the Nine-Tails' voice abruptly vanished from Baishi's mind.
A weight seemed to lift off his shoulders. His chakra flowed more freely, and the interference from the Nine-Tails significantly diminished. While his control wasn't fully restored, the disruption was now negligible.
"Not bad."
Satisfied, Baishi turned his attention inward and allowed his consciousness to enter the sealing space.
Unlike Naruto's dim and damp "sewer," Baishi's sealing space resembled a grand altar. At its center stood a massive stone platform, upon which loomed a towering cage. Within the cage lay the Nine-Tails.
"What do you think?"
Baishi approached the cage and casually asked, "Not a bad place, right?"
The Nine-Tails didn't respond kindly. It growled, thrusting a massive claw through the cage bars toward him.
The razor-sharp claw stopped mere inches from Baishi's face.
Unfazed, Baishi reached out and pushed the claw aside. With a soft voice, he said, "No need to be so aggressive. Let's talk."
The Nine-Tails withdrew its paw and closed its eyes, feigning indifference. Perhaps realizing it couldn't harm Baishi, it decided not to waste energy on futile efforts.
Baishi chuckled lightly, "How about this—lend me your chakra, Kurama?"
He deliberately emphasized the name "Kurama."
The beast's eyes snapped open, and its gaze sharpened. "How do you know my name?"
"If I said the Sage of Six Paths told me, would you believe it?" Baishi teased.
The Nine-Tails snorted dismissively. "I don't care how you know my name. But helping you? Forget it. Keep dreaming."
With that, it shut its eyes again, ignoring Baishi entirely.
"So that's your answer..."
Baishi sighed, though he didn't seem too disappointed. In truth, he had anticipated this reaction. Meeting the Nine-Tails face-to-face had been a formality—a faint hope that the beast might cooperate.
Since it refused, he would proceed with his original plan.
Baishi placed his hands on the Eight Trigrams Seal and made a minor adjustment, creating a small opening.

In the depths of the ocean, Baishi steadied his breathing as chakra surged through the seal. The suppressed power of the Nine-Tails began to flow in controlled bursts.
Although Kurama roared in fury, Baishi remained focused. This method, though risky, would allow him to gradually assimilate the Nine-Tails' chakra without releasing the beast entirely.
With the situation temporarily stabilized, Baishi prepared for the next step of his journey.
