章節 246: Chapter 246: Byakugan and Jinchūriki – You Can Only Choose One

As they journeyed back to the Land of Lightning, the Third Raikage paused and turned to his son.

"When you encounter Hyuga Shinki in the future, avoid conflict unless you have a solid plan to counter his abilities. Your temper is your greatest weakness, and it's too easy for someone like him to exploit it."

The Third Raikage knew his son well. Ay's impulsive personality often led him to act without fully considering the consequences, especially when provoked. With someone as cunning and composed as Shinki, Ay's hot-headedness could be easily turned against him.

Outwardly, the Third Raikage seemed unbothered by the events of the day, but inwardly, he was already strategizing.

How can we counter that power? Could Ohnoki's theory about the Byakugan's evolution be true?

The possibility gnawed at him.

If the Byakugan can evolve, we must investigate. Should we use the asset we've planted in Konoha?

But this created a dilemma. His original plan for the spy was to target Kushina Uzumaki—the host of the Nine-Tails and a member of the powerful Uzumaki clan. Both targets were significant, but he could only choose one. Once the spy acted, Konoha would undoubtedly eliminate them, leaving no second chance.

Byakugan or Jinchūriki? Which is more important?

The Raikage mulled over the decision in silence.

Meanwhile, in a quiet forest clearing, Hyuga Shinki and Namikaze Minato sat near a campfire. A roasting animal leg on a stick filled the air with the enticing aroma of cooked meat. However, Minato's attention wasn't on the food.

"Teacher, is it difficult to counter the force of attraction and repulsion?" Minato asked, breaking the silence.

Shinki glanced at him, a faint smile on his lips. "Not particularly. There are many ways to counter it. The trick lies in understanding the technique and devising a strategy. It's only tricky when encountering it for the first time. With enough study, it's not insurmountable."

"Then why did the Third Raikage end the battle so quickly?" Minato asked, his curiosity piqued.

Shinki chuckled. "He realized he couldn't land a hit on me, and without a means to counter my techniques, continuing the fight would have only embarrassed him further. If he persisted, it would've looked like… well, walking a dog."

Minato blinked in confusion. "Walking… a dog?"

Shinki ruffled his blond hair affectionately. "Remember this, Minato: the Third Raikage is one of the most dangerous opponents in the ninja world. Even I wouldn't want to face his attacks head-on. His offensive power is terrifying, and his defense is almost impenetrable."

He leaned back, his tone growing serious. "Today's battle was more about testing him. He's a powerhouse, no doubt. But even he has his limits."

Shinki's gaze grew thoughtful. He recalled the rumors of the Third Raikage's death from exhaustion during a prolonged battle in the Land of Earth. If those rumors were true, the younger Ay would soon ascend as the Fourth Raikage.

"He won't be as formidable as his father," Shinki muttered to himself. Then, turning to Minato, he added, "Your real target in the future will be Ay, the Fourth Raikage. He's hot-headed and easy to provoke. If you get the chance, teach him a lesson."

"Yes, Teacher," Minato said with a determined nod, already imagining how he would uphold his mentor's honor.

"Teacher, should I study taijutsu techniques like those from the Cloud Village?" Minato asked after a moment of silence.

Shinki shook his head as he handed Minato a piece of roasted meat. "There's no need. Their taijutsu has evolved to its peak over the years, but we have our own strengths."

He gestured toward Minato. "Especially for you. Cloud-style taijutsu emphasizes brute strength, speed, and durability, but it comes at a cost. If you trained like them, you'd sacrifice your agility and reflexes. You wouldn't want to end up like Raikage's son, covered in bulky muscles that slow your reactions, would you?"

Minato shuddered as he imagined the overly muscular figure of Ay. Though impressive in its own right, it wasn't a path he wished to follow.

Back in the Land of Wind, the Third Kazekage returned to the Sand Village's frontline camp. Chiyo immediately stood to greet him, handing over a detailed report of the village's damages.

As he skimmed the report, his expression darkened. "Damn that kid!"

Even the Kazekage's office had been destroyed during Shinki's strategic attack on the village while the Kage meeting was underway. Yet, despite his anger, he kept his emotions in check. After all, neither Ōnoki, the Third Raikage, nor the Third Mizukage showed any sympathy for his plight. They were even relieved that it wasn't their villages under attack.
