Clair could not stay around for long since she had work to do. But she gave Anabella her number so she could call Noah if anything happened.

Anabella thanked her, but she had no intention of using this number to call anyone anytime soon. She won't be in his hospital long enough for this call to matter.

She had no idea how the alpha realized what Anabella was thinking because the next thing she knew, Clair looked at her disapprovingly.

"Call me! And I do not mean just when you are in the hospital. You are allowed to call me whenever you want to. I promise I will come and help you out. You are important to me, Anabella, and the sooner you learn that, the better."

The female alpha finally departed with those last words, and Anabella's face felt hot.

She reached out toward her face, and she could feel the heat under her palms.
