章節 24: Ch-24 Four-barrel shotgun!

Just by sacrificing dozens of pistols, he had obtained such a terrifyingly powerful weapon.

What would happen if he sacrificed hundreds? Could he blow up a tank with a single shot?

Ryan's expression became pensive. However, based on his understanding of the power of sacrifice, sacrificing hundreds of pistols might only bring him an obsolete cannon.

"With such power," he murmured, examining the revolver, "I sentence you to death."

He named the weapon and turned to the remaining pistols.

With his current marksmanship, hitting anything beyond a hundred meters was more a matter of luck than skill. For now, long-range weapons were not a priority.

In close combat, a revolver would suffice in most situations. But if he encountered a powerful magical creature or found himself surrounded, a single revolver wouldn't be enough.

What he needed was a primary weapon capable of large-scale destruction at close range.

And the only firearm that fit the bill was the shotgun.

Shotguns had an impressively long range. At close range, anything within ten feet was obliterated-no grass left standing, as the saying went.

The previous battle with the werewolf had already proven the effectiveness of a shotgun against magical creatures. Ordinary rifles wouldn't even scratch a normal werewolf.

Ryan gathered more than a dozen shotguns and, after some thought, added all the remaining rifles to the pile.

If he was going for ultimate lethality, he might as well take a chance.

With so many weapons, he hoped to at least create a truly formidable weapon.

"Sacrifice!"

Ryan clapped his hands and activated the Sacrifice ability.

A flash of light engulfed the pile of weapons, and when it faded, the weapons were gone.

In their place was a four-barreled shotgun, all black with intricate dark gold patterns etched into its surface.

The weapon exuded a menacing, almost primal aura.

It had four black barrels, and underneath was a cylindrical chamber that could hold twelve rounds.

Single- and double-barreled shotguns were common, but a four-barrel shotgun? Ryan had never seen one before.

He lifted the weapon, as long as an adult's arm, and admired its fierce design.

It was hard to imagine anything surviving a shot from this monstrosity.

Werewolves? Vampires? They would be obliterated.

An ordinary shotgun could kill a werewolf at close range, so this weapon - created by sacrificing dozens of shotguns - would undoubtedly do even more.

Ryan had no doubt that it could kill the second-generation werewolf the witch had turned with a single shot.

He wanted to test the weapon right away, but hesitated. The noise of the shotgun would surely draw attention.

Firing a pistol was one thing, but a shotgun blast would be much harder to explain if the police were called.

"Forget it," he muttered. "I'll test it on the other side of the space-time gate."

Ryan then turned his attention to the boxes of bullets scattered around the room.

The guns were powerful, but ordinary bullets lacked the punch he needed.

If he sacrificed the ammunition, he might get something special.

He grabbed a box of bullets and activated the sacrifice ability again.

Moments later, a small pile grenades appeared in front of him.

Ryan raised an eyebrow.

"Uh..." He stared at the box of old-fashioned grenades, struggling to keep a straight face.

This result was unexpected, even for him.

Why had the sacrifice of bullets resulted in antique grenades?

"This is useless," he grumbled, picking up one of the grenades. "What am I supposed to do with them? Throw them by hand?"

Still, he couldn't bear to throw them away.

Sacrificed items couldn't be sacrificed again, so he reluctantly kept them, thinking they might come in handy if he ever acquired an antique cannon.

"I hope I'll have better luck this time," Ryan said, grabbing another box of bullets.

Fortunately, fate was more kind on his next attempt.

As the box of 12.7mm rounds disappeared, a pile of special bullets materialized.

Ryan picked one up and examined it.

The caliber was similar to regular 12.7mm rounds, but these bullets were slightly longer and heavier.

The box had originally contained 1,500 bullets, but only 100 of these enhanced bullets had resulted from the sacrifice. Each of these special bullets was worth 15 regular ones.

Their power, Ryan guessed, would be extraordinary.

He set aside bullets for the revolver and shotgun as spares and sacrificed the remaining ammunition.

After sacrificing over a dozen boxes, Ryan ended up with four different types of improved revolver bullets and two improved types of shotgun shells.

Of course, there were also more antique-level artillery shells and flintlock ammunition.

Overall, he considered the haul a success.

By the time he was done, night had fallen.

Ryan looked at the three-story mansion in the distance and smiled.

"I wonder if the new neighbors will have nightmares tonight," he mused.

But he quickly dismissed the thought.

The first few residents who'd moved into the villa area had experienced strange events, but nothing too overt.

Evil spirits weren't stupid. If every new resident ran into trouble right away, the authorities would have torn down the haunted house long ago.
