The rooftop was peaceful, with only the distant noise of the city below.. Elion stood near the edge, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his coat, his sharp eyes gazing out over the skyline. The wind tousled his dark hair, but he didn't seem to notice. He looked like he had it all together, but the way his jaw clenched made it clear he was boiling inside.

Zake stood a few feet away, leaning against the low wall that framed the rooftop. His arms were crossed over his chest, his white coat flapping lightly in the breeze. His expression was one of curiosity mixed with concern, though he masked it well with a neutral tone as he broke the silence.

"I honestly thought Kade was joking when he told me you were coming to check on a pregnant woman," Zake said, his lips quirking into a faint smile.

Elion's gaze remained fixed on the horizon. "I wish it was a joke," he replied, his voice low and even, though there was a hint of bitterness in his words.
