章節 46: Mastery of Energies and Their Differences

A few days later, Hisagi managed to master an initial-level spell capable of creating a powerful shield to suppress special-class cursed spirits. Since obtaining the book with the 99 spells, studying these spells has become one of his pastimes, alongside physical training and further developing his combat style.

One of the spells could be used to track anomalies in cursed or spiritual energy, allowing him to find locations where these energies are concentrated or where specific targets might be. While the spell's specifics remained unclear due to many factors involved, it essentially worked as a tracker.

The book was filled with binding techniques, each more powerful and useful than the last. Additionally, there were very complex sealing techniques capable of containing cursed spirits or even sorcerers. For example, Bakudo 99 consists of three stages: the first binds the enemy in an energy cloth, the second uses a series of needles that pierce the enemy, and the third involves a kind of box that drops onto them.

Some techniques also have more powerful versions, making this book a repository of formidable power. Hisagi realized he had to protect it, so he asked Panda to try reading the book; Panda only saw unrelated content, leading Hisagi to conclude that only those with spiritual energy could read it.

However, he didn't rule out the idea that he might be the only one with the ability to read it. So, he always carried the relatively small book with him.

During this time, he also pondered the difference between his Reiatsu and the cursed energy of this world. Reiatsu, or spiritual pressure, is the power source that grants Hisagi immense strength, along with his Reiryoku.

The difference between Reiatsu and Reiryoku is simple: Reiryoku is the amount of energy stored in a being's body or soul, while Reiatsu is the pressure one exerts. The difference is similar to that between energy and power. Power is the amount of energy exerted per unit of time; Reiryoku is potential, while Reiatsu is energy in use.

Hisagi also possessed a small amount of cursed energy, which he could increase if desired.

So, what was the difference between these energies?

Fear. High levels of Reiatsu can instill fear in others, lowering their combat capability. One way to counteract this is with a strong will, but that's a trait not everyone has in abundance.

Another characteristic of Reiatsu is its stunning effect; a high level of spiritual energy can stun someone who senses it. It can also paralyze opponents, as a being with immense spiritual energy can paralyze their adversary with just a glance. Lastly, Reiatsu can cause pain, making an opponent feel as if they're under attack, even without physical contact.

These are just some of the defensive aspects of his spiritual energy; it's not just about flaunting his power.

One offensive use is causing damage, which can be substantial if he releases his limiter, unleashing a massive amount of spiritual pressure.

The most lethal use of Reiatsu is death; in high quantities, Reiatsu can be fatal. Hisagi's Reiatsu type is elemental, typically accessible only after releasing a Zanpakuto, though some users have wielded it without release.

This was likely something Hisagi could already do. With the mark of the fire demon, he could manipulate fire and amplify it with his spiritual energy, enhancing his flames.

Regarding the energy of this world, it's a type of energy found in almost all humans. Sorcerers use it to achieve various abilities, and it forms the essence of cursed spirits, making it the only known power capable of harming them.

Cursed energy originates from negative emotions that naturally flow through the body. Almost all humans emit cursed energy in some form.

Considering where each energy originates, Hisagi's spiritual energy differs greatly from cursed energy, powered by distinct factors.

A sorcerer without cursed energy is undetectable to others, which led Hisagi to question whether he should increase his cursed energy, as his current trace was minimal. Unless a sorcerer was highly skilled, they wouldn't sense him.

Gojo could detect it due to his eyes, a gift that provides unparalleled analysis and insight beyond any other sorcerer. Hisagi was now able to control and merge these energies within his body, a feat that should be impossible.

Reflecting on his parents, neither seemed capable of manipulating cursed or spiritual energy, a fact that seemed strange since Hisagi had obtained it through his attribute panel.

But that, he'd need to investigate—learning the history and determining if he was truly the only one capable of mastering techniques powered by spiritual energy. Then again, in reality, it seemed impossible.

"Miaow!"

"Are you hungry?" Hisagi glanced at his cat, closing the spellbook afterward. His body had undergone substantial changes, though these were barely noticeable beneath his clothes.

As Hisagi fed his cat, he reflected on his purpose for being in this place. He had pondered it many times: the possibility of learning Jujutsu.

Could it be useless?

He didn't think so; there were beings powerful enough to counter his current abilities and defeat him. This suggested that cursed energy had great potential, and Hisagi wouldn't be foolish enough to ignore this type of power.

After learning Jujutsu here, he'd be able to manipulate his own abilities and have contingencies should he ever face a formidable opponent.

For now, however, as he had only just arrived, it was inappropriate to request Jujutsu training immediately. He'd wait for the right time and then discuss the matter with Gojo Satoru.

Whether he even had the ability to learn Jujutsu remained unknown to him—a factor that could change everything. He had taken over this body after dying in that car accident abroad, so his memory was limited.

But these were merely unimportant details.

"I will become stronger," Hisagi murmured with a calm expression.

"Miaow!"

The black-furred cat had been unusually playful in recent days, adding a new warmth to Hisagi's days filled with learning.
