章節 3: Accident & Introduction
"Are you sure this is the truck you want Bells? I have no problem getting you something newer." I stated.
"Yes. This is perfect!" Bella answered from behind the wheel of a 1974 Ford F100.
"Alright. I'll get the paperwork taken care of and we'll get her home so you can driver her to school on Monday." I said.

1 WEEK LATER
Awhile before Bella was to arrive from school, the phone rang.
"Lucian, Bella is at the hospital. I'm on my way there now but you can get there before me. Please go make sure she's alright." Dad said.
"I'm walking out the door now." I responded as I threw on my coat.
"Thanks. I'll be about 10 minutes behind you." Dad said before he hang up.
...
I walked into the room Bella was in but she was surrounded by nurses checking her vitals. All I could do was stand by the door like a good brother (guard dog) and wait until they were finished doing their jobs.
They didn't finish until just as Dad burst into the room.
"Bella!" Dad said, relieved she appeared fine. Looking around he asked "Where's Lucian?! He should have beat me here easily."
"He's behind you. He's been standing there like a statue, watching me like a hawk for about 10 minutes." Bella answered.
"Why are you standing there?" Dad asked me.
"They were running tests until right before you walked in. I figured staying out of the way was better than rushing in like a chicken with my head cut off." I answered.
"Good point." Dad said as he started walking towards Bella. Noticing the kid in the other bed, Dad told him "You and I are going to talk!"
"...yes sir." Was all he said since I had been staring him down the whole time I wasn't watching Bella his nerves were already at their wits end.
"Dad! From what I've heard, he hit a patch of ice after swerving to avoid someone that pulled out in front of him without looking. It was an accident on his part. I'm more curious about the other driver." I defended the boy that took all the blame in the movie...no seriously, watch that scene again and you tell me.
"Truely? Tell me honest kid, did someone almost cause an accident that you were trying to avoid?" Dad asked him.
"Yes sir. I was driving towards the parking lot exit when someone backed out suddenly and I swerved to avoid them. It was a knee jerk reaction but there was ice right there and my wheels were locked up and and I couldn't stop. I thought I crushed her between my van and her truck..." he answered, starting to hyperventilate due to the memory.
"Alright, calm down. We'll get this all sorted out after you're out of here." Dad said just before the door opened.
"I heard the Chiefs daughter was here." Carlisle said loudly.
"Dr Cullen." Dad nodded towards him.
"Charlie. Isabella..." Carlisle started to say.
"""Bella!""" All 3 of us interrupted him.
"...alright, Bella. You took a nasty fall. No concussion but a nasty bump. You'll be alright after resting for the weekend. So long as you don't feel any issues, you won't need to come back." Carlisle said before I zoned out.
Next thing I know Bella is rushing out of the room dialing a number on her cell phone.
"I'll go with her. You gonna sign her out?" I asked Dad.
"Yeah. You take her back to her truck when she's done and I'll pick up some food. What are you feeling like tonight?" He asked me.
"Just some oven pizza works for me. Don't forget the little heathens pineapple pizza." I said with a shiver.
"Yeah, alright. Pizza sounds like it will hit the spot anyways." He said as he walked towards the nurses station.
I walked out the door to see Bella talking to Edward. Upon seeing me, Edward froze and stared at me like he'd seen a ghost.
"I'll see you at school on Monday, Bella." He said before he power walked off towards Carlisle and Rosalie who had the same looks on their faces.
"Are you ready to go get your truck Bells?" I asked her after ignoring the Cullens.
"Yeah, let's go." She said as we walked towards the front door.
...
"That's him." Edward said, staring after me.
"He does look like the paintings she draws every day." Rosalie replied.
"All in good time." Was all Carlisle said with a smile.

Nothing more interesting than exploring my powers more would happen with me until Bella was invited to the Cullens home...for the 2nd time to meet up right before heading out to play baseball. She asked me to join her. Of course I would go with her since she asked.
"So your mother designed this house?" I asked Edward.
"Yes. She's very proud of it and enjoys showing it off." He answered.
"I can see why. It's beautiful." Was all I could say. The house in this world made the house in the movie look like a shipping container home. In this world it was more wood lodge and less modern. It felt warmer, more welcoming.
"Everyone's waiting to meet you. Let's head inside." Edward said as he lead us into the house.
"If you're introducing me because you've started to see Bella, shouldn't our Dad be here as well?" I asked.
"We're hoping you'll act as a kind of buffer. You know, put in a good word so to speak before we tell him." Edward answered with Bella nodding, but I could sense he was lying. Nothing malicious, just not honest.
"Hmm. I'll be honest with you. My Dad isn't the overprotective 1. I am. You hurt my sister and my Dad, the cop, will be the least of your worries." I told him. He would normally write this off, but Edward felt he could do it. Vampire or no.
After making it up the stairs, we stepped into the living room to see 7 people sitting there.
'Wait...7?' I thought to myself as I counted again and realized Jasper was sitting next to someone that resembled a female Edward. 'What happened to Alice?!' I thought as I looked at her, sitting by herself. All she was doing was staring at me.
As our eyes met the world seemed to disappear. 'Shit...well guess things are about to get interesting. I should just grab her and go. Everyone is staring at us like they're watching a real life drama. Instead, I said "Hello." Directed towards Alice and Alice alone. The smile that lit up her face made my day.
All I heard was some background white noice of cat calls, whoops and a very faint 'FINALLY!' that sounded exactly like my, now 2, Grandpa's.
