章節 125: Chapter 125: The Gundam-Type Mecha

Yan Xia descended from the spaceship and stood on the surface of a lake. This was the landing pad, as there wasn't enough space to specifically allocate an area for landing the ship.

The lake was quite deep, at least twenty to thirty meters, and the water was crystal clear, with a visibility of five to six meters.

Standing on the water's surface, Yan Xia felt as if he was lifted by a repulsive force, yet it was also quite magical, as the ripples on the water caused his body to undulate.

"There's a layer of gas on the water's surface, produced by the electrolysis of water. The electromagnetic field compresses this gas layer to an extremely thin state, forming a thin film. Yan Xia, you are currently standing on that film."

This was a technology more for entertainment purposes, with limited application in combat scenarios.

"There should be many such technologies in the Federation, right? With some encouragement, we can award honors and have companies help with promotion and commercialization."

"Sometimes, a small invention may seem useless at the moment, but that doesn't mean it won't have a use in the future."

"The development of technology is a layered process, and no one can predict how a seemingly minor technology can eventually lead to significant innovations."

Yan Xia gave detailed instructions, and Ella listened attentively.

"Yes, sir!"

"But should we also encourage useless inventions?"

Wouldn't that lead to an overwhelming number of people trying to take advantage of it?

"We can establish a dedicated evaluation agency."

"We can categorize the ideas into different levels, like A, B, C, D, E, F, and G."

"Each level of idea will receive different support. Even the most seemingly useless ideas will get some encouragement, and these ideas will be recorded in files."

"These files should be made publicly accessible. No information within the Federation, except for cutting-edge technologies and military affairs, should be kept confidential."

By increasing the permissions of citizens, they can get closer to the core and devote more energy to innovation rather than being entertained to death.

Yan Xia walked around the city on the surface of the Kunlun, and it was indeed a great place to relax and relieve stress.

Afterward, he took an elevator to enter the interior of the Kunlun.

The space inside was even narrower than he had imagined, with the corridors having a height of only six meters, which was the head height of the Warbeast race and could be considered the lower limit.

Among the soldiers, Yan Xia saw members of the Warbeast race and the Lightwing race. Standing together, they looked like demons and angels.

"The Warbeast race has strong athletic genes. Later, I further optimized their genes, pushing their data to the limits."

Ella introduced Yan Xia to the changes that had occurred within the Civilized Federation over the years.

They had already discussed many things, and there were countless small details to cover.

They entered a cabin, and there Yan Xia saw something he had dreamed of when he was very young.

Gundam!

"Before the Warbeast race joined, I hadn't considered promoting such things within the Federation."

"Whether it's humans, the Hundred-Eyed race, or other races, it's impossible for them to pilot such a machine unless they undergo modifications."

"The Warbeast race, however, has the innate ability for this. Their two brains can work in a coordinated and unified manner, making the mecha possible."

The mecha itself was impractical and had an awkward position in space warfare.

In terms of flexibility, attack power, speed, and weaponry, it was inferior to spaceships in every way, except for being slightly cooler.

"Ground combat tactics require high intelligence. Can the Warbeast race's IQ support that?" Yan Xia asked.

Yan Xia had previously discussed the mecha with Ella, and they had concluded that the only use for such a machine was to infiltrate the enemy's planet or battleship, where the enemy couldn't use area weapons, and then unleash its combat power.

"The Warbeast race isn't just a bunch of dumb brutes with well-developed muscles."

"Most of the tactical staff within the Federation are from the Warbeast race."

Ella criticized Yan Xia's stereotypical view.

However, these mechas were actually better controlled by computers. The Civilized Federation's robot technology was already very advanced, and there were countless machines like Ella that could think independently. Ella's current position was due to her computing power and the 270,000 restrictions she had set on those robots.

The reason for still using the Warbeast race was primarily cost-related, as good robot hosts were too expensive.

This was quite realistic.

"There are a total of 15,000 Gundam-type mechas on the Kunlun, suitable for use inside the ship and for deployment against the enemy."

"All these mechas are made of the latest liquid metal, and their internal structures are also mostly made of special liquid materials."

The mechas were also internal defense tools to prevent enemy soldiers from entering their own spaceship.

Yan Xia took a look at these mechas. Compared to the ones in anime, they were more ergonomic, not boxy, and adopted more streamlined designs. They were called Gundams, but they actually looked more like a larger version of the Transformers.

Each of these mechas was 284 meters tall.

Apart from the novel Gundam, Yan Xia didn't see any other new and exciting things. Most of the improvements were based on the previous foundation.

Useful technology could become classics, but this also meant that the Kunlun's level of black technology wasn't very high. Its essence was still a practical battleship, not an innovative technology exhibition.

After staying on the Kunlun for two months, the ship finally departed from SC-29.

As Ella had said, the Kunlun accelerated to its maximum speed using 100% of its stored energy. Moreover, the acceleration was extremely slow, reaching only 10g. In a Level 2 civilization that had mastered gravity control, this speed could be described as a snail's pace.

After a full 70.5 hours, the Kunlun reached its maximum speed and flew into deep space.

The strong gravitational radius of SC-29 was only 0.16 light-years. The Kunlun, departing from SC-29C, took only 1.5 years to completely leave the star system.

However, this was still far from the Civilized Federation's star domain.

Yan Xia's body had mostly recovered, and the gene repair had caused his body to undergo a second growth spurt. His height had shot up to 1.91 meters, and his weight had reached 122 kilograms.

However, he was still considered short in the current Civilized Federation.

Not to mention other races, but even the average height of human soldiers on Kunlun Mountain was 2.06 meters. The recorded height of natural humans without genetic modification was 3.61 meters, and this was not due to gigantism or other pathological conditions but was a normal height.

After his recovery, Yan Xia quickly entered a state of hibernation. During his sleep, he planned to experience the Virtual Universe Youth Edition installed on the Kunlun.

Once again, he embarked on a journey spanning thousands of years. The gray mecha-type battleship swam through the starry sky like a fish, crossing the stars and returning home.

The first stop was the border of the current Civilized Federation, a snow-covered star that was completely unfamiliar to Yan Xia—Sakkar.
