I watched as the words settled around Kieran, saying nothing as his expression morphed into one of reflection.

Marriage.

Kieran wanted me to marry him again.

After everything that had happened? Hell no.

Feelings didn't matter anymore. Kieran had shattered my heart over and over again. He had broken my trust with his nonchalance a number of times.

He had almost gotten married to another woman. If the pregnancy with Amelia had been a real one instead of a fake, I knew Kieran would not be sitting before me right now and asking me to marry him. 

Marry him. Not for love, but because I was the mother of his child. I doubted if he truly loved me.

Truth be told, he might have wanted me back. He pursued me relentlessly and took me on a date unlike one I had ever been to before.

But his feelings were surface feelings at most. There was no genuine need in him, no sincere connection between us.
