EDWINA
A week after Orion surprised me with a visit to my house, he came to see me in my office.
Juliette, who came to announce the presence of a surprise visitor had winked before she invited him in.
As she refused to tell me who it was, her wink had thrown my mind into a whirlwind of emotions. My heart started to pound in anticipation as I waited for who it was to walk in through the door.
But when I saw the familiar gait of Orion as he walked in, my heart deflated immediately.
I had been expecting someone else.
I had been expecting someone, my ex husband specifically, to walk in through the door.
The pounding in my heart slowed, my heart rate going back to its normal beat. A sigh escaped through my lips, and I sat back down as Orion stepped in further.
"Hello, gorgeous," he greeted with a warm smile.
"Hi, Orion," I said as brightly as I could manage work the weight of disappointment in my chest.
