章節 15: The Alley Encounter

As he packed up his things after the day at the academy, Sasuke walked toward home, the sun slowly setting on the horizon, painting the sky a shade of orange. The gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh earth, but Sasuke's mind was far from the beauty of the world around him. He reflected on his training and goals, trying to better understand the nuances of his new body and how to maximize his abilities as a ninja.

Suddenly, a slight movement behind him caught his attention. Instinctively, Sasuke turned, scanning his surroundings cautiously. It was a skill he had developed—the ability to notice the smallest details—a crucial advantage after his reincarnation. He didn't see anyone, but something in the air felt different. There was a soft whisper, as if two voices were trying to remain discreet. He paused, curious and a bit suspicious.

Heightening his senses, Sasuke decided to test the situation. He slightly altered his pace, walking more slowly, and noticed that the voices became more audible, though still indistinct. He wasn't the type to be easily intimidated, and curiosity mixed with suspicion. Whatever it was, it was following him, and that was not something he accepted lightly.

Finally, he decided it was time to confront his "followers." With a quick movement, he slipped into a nearby alley, a narrow, dimly lit space where he could observe who was following him without being seen. He leaned against the wall, silent, and waited. It didn't take long before two figures appeared, almost skipping. Sasuke couldn't help but feel a flicker of disbelief as he recognized his pursuers: Sakura and Ino.

They were in full fan-girl mode, whispering to each other and looking at him with admiring gazes, like two kids who had just seen their hero. The scene was both surprising and slightly irritating. Sakura, her eyes sparkling with excitement, took the initiative.

"Sasuke!" she called, her voice sweet and almost musical. "Wait!"

Sasuke wasn't surprised by their approach. He had expected it, but couldn't help feeling a twinge of frustration. He raised an eyebrow, questioning:

"What are you doing following me?"

Immediately, Sakura and Ino started arguing, both trying to explain themselves at the same time.

"I just wanted to see how you were doing!" Sakura said, looking impatient, her expression that of someone trying to justify herself.

"And I just wanted to ask you out, Sasuke!" Ino countered, visibly indignant, as if she were defending her own territory.

Annoyed by the confusion that had arisen, Sasuke raised his hand and demanded that they stop.

"Stop causing trouble!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with impatience. The firm tone made the two instantly quiet, and the alley, once filled with whispers and secrets, now became a scene of shyness.

The two glanced at each other, a bit embarrassed. The silence that followed seemed to stretch on for long seconds. Then, after a moment of hesitation, Sakura, with a shy smile, decided to break the ice.

"Actually, we wanted to know if you'd like to hang out with us, Sasuke. It would be fun!" she revealed, her eyes shyly sparkling.

Sasuke rolled his eyes, frustration mixing with disbelief. He replied, trying to keep his tone neutral:

"Don't you have anything better to do?"

Both girls lowered their heads, visibly embarrassed. Sakura's face was slightly flushed, while Ino bit her lower lip, clearly feeling awkward about the situation. The scene was pathetic and endearing at the same time, and Sasuke couldn't help but feel a slight smile form on his lips.

"We just wanted to spend some time with you, you know? You're so amazing!" Sakura whispered, trying to explain herself.

Sasuke, realizing he needed to change the direction of the conversation, took a deep breath. He knew it wasn't fair to reject their affection outright, but he had to be direct.

"Look, you two are training to become kunoichi now. Your focus should be on that: training," he said, his tone more serious but still carrying an implicit kindness.

He encouraged them, trying to provide some motivation. He knew that if he could help them focus, he might also deflect the unwanted attention he was receiving.

"I'll give you a tip: if I were to go out with someone, I'd prefer it to be someone strong," he declared, with the conviction of someone who knew he was offering valuable advice. The sincerity in his words seemed to linger in the air.

As he spoke, Sasuke thought that this statement could distract them and avoid further nuisances. He didn't want to be rude, but neither did he want to get caught up in something that wasn't his priority at the moment. Training was his main concern, and he hoped they would share that focus.

Sakura and Ino's reactions were mixed. Initially, their expressions showed slight disappointment, but soon a spark of determination began to shine in their eyes. They seemed inspired to push themselves harder, and this gave Sasuke a sense of relief.

"Alright, Sasuke! We'll work hard!" Ino replied, with a cheerful smile that seemed to light up her face.

"That's right!" Sakura added, raising her head with determination. "We'll focus on our training!"

Their positive energy made Sasuke relax a bit. He saw how determined they were, though a bit naïve in their admiration.

"And who knows, maybe one day we can hang out together!" Ino said, winking at him with a playful smile.

Sasuke nodded, satisfied with their response. Even though he was steering clear of any romantic relationships, he really didn't want anything to do with 7-year-old girls. As they left the alley, he felt relieved that he had diverted their attention, allowing him to refocus on his own goals.

With a clearer mind, Sasuke continued on his way to the training grounds. Along the way, his reflections deepened. He pondered what it meant to be a ninja and how strength wasn't just physical but also mental. The challenge of concentrating on his training without being distracted by childish diversions was an important step in his journey. In the distance, he spotted the training grounds and, with renewed determination, quickened his pace, ready for another training session.

In light of the challenges ahead, the conversation with Sakura and Ino served as a reminder that, though the path to power was a solitary one, there was also camaraderie and the support of others who shared the same ambition. With this in mind, Sasuke decided that in his quest for strength, there might be room for new friendships—as long as they were built on mutual respect and shared goals.

Upon reaching the grounds, darkness had already fallen, and the moon shone brightly in the sky. Sasuke took a deep breath, feeling the energy of the place. It was time to train, time to grow stronger. He was determined to master his jutsus and become a true ninja. The journey was just beginning, and he was ready to face it, one step at a time.
