章節 78: Chapter 78: Impotent

As they finished their dessert, Lisa glanced at her watch. "It's getting late. we should head home."

Emma and Didi nodded in agreement. "We'll walk you out," Emma said.

The driver, sensing their readiness to leave, swiftly went to pay his bill but to his suprise everything is Already paid for and he stood up, awaiting Lisa's instructions.

As they walked out of the restaurant, Emma's curiosity got the better of her. "So, Lisa, how's married life treating you?"

Lisa's smile faltered for a moment before she replied, "It's normal."

Didi's eyes sparkled mischievously. "Come on, spill the tea. What's it like being married to Lugard?"

Lisa's laughter echoed through the night air. "You two are impossible."

Emma's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Is he intense in bed?"

Lisa's cheeks flushed slightly, and she shook her head, "No, we haven't... done that."

Didi and Emma exchanged confused glances. "Why?" they asked in unison.

Lisa scratched her head, struggling to explain. "I don't know. It's just... whenever we're passionate, and things start to escalate, he stops abruptly."

Emma's brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"

Lisa's voice dropped to a whisper. "We'll be kissing, and things will get intense, but just as it's about to go further, he pulls back and walks away."

Didi's eyes widened. "Has he said anything? Given you any explanation?"

Lisa shook her head, frustration etched on her face. "No, he just changes the subject or avoids talking about it."

The silence that followed was filled with unanswered questions.

"Maybe he can't perform," Emma whispered, her eyes locked on Lisa's.

Didi's brow furrowed. "The rumors about him... could they be true?"

Lisa's expression turned troubled. "The accident... maybe it damaged something."

Emma's voice was barely audible. "You mean, maybe he's impotent?"

Lisa's eyes widened, the possibility sinking in.

Didi's face softened. "Oh, Lisa. That would explain a lot."

Lisa's thoughts raced. Could it be true? Was Lugard struggling with physical limitations?

with his striking and stunning appearance, couple he be impotent. Lisa wondered.

"Bye, see you guys soon!" Lisa waved at her friends, as Emma and Didi drove away.

The driver nodded respectfully, opening the car door for Lisa.

As they pulled out of the parking lot, Lisa gazed out the window, lost in thought.

The driver's voice broke the silence. "Mrs., shall I play some music?"

Lisa nodded absently. "Yes, thank you."

Soft instrumental music filled the car, but Lisa's mind remained preoccupied.

Thoughts of Lugard and their unresolved issues swirled in her head.

As they approached the estate, Lisa's anxiety grew.

How would she confront Lugard about her suspicions?

The driver's announcement interrupted her thoughts. "We're home, Mrs."

Lisa took a deep breath, ok. she replied.

Lisa walked into the estate, the warm glow of the light illuminating her entrance.

"good evening, Mrs.," the maid, Maria, curtsied.

"Good evening, Mrs.," the butler, Jenkins, echoed, his eyes respectful.

Lisa nodded, her smile faint. "Good evening, Maria. Mr Jenkins."

As she passed, Maria and Jenkins exchanged a discreet glance, sensing her unease.

"Shall I prepare your dinner, Mrs.?" Maria asked.

Lisa hesitated. "No, thank you, Maria. I'm not hungry."

Jenkins cleared his throat. "Mr. Lugard's trip is going smoothly, Mrs. His assistant informed us he'll be back in a few days."

Lisa's thoughts drifted to Lugard, her mind still reeling from the conversation with Emma and Didi.

"Thank you, Jenkins," she said, her voice distant.

Maria and Jenkins bowed, retreating to their duties.

Lisa climbed the stairs, her solitude enveloping her like a shroud.

Lisa climbed the stairs, her footsteps echoing through the empty hallway. She entered her bedroom, the soft glow of the lamps a stark contrast to her turbulent thoughts.

She slipped off her shoes, her gaze drifting to the large bed, a reminder of her sleeping with Lugard.

Lisa sighed, her shoulders sagging. She felt lost, and sorry for him without knowing how to help with his impotency.

She wandered to the window, staring into the night, her thoughts consumed by Lugard.

What was he doing at that moment? Was he thinking of her?

The silence was oppressive, and Lisa sought distraction. She picked up a book, but the words blurred together.

She tried music, but the melodies felt hollow.

Restless, Lisa paced the room, her mind racing.

Suddenly, she stopped in front of Lugard's private sitting room door.

Lisa stood before Lugard's study door, her hand hesitating on the handle. She missed him terribly, and the emptiness felt suffocating.

Why did his absence affect her so deeply? They'd been married only a few months, but her heart ached as if he'd been gone for years.

She pushed open the door, stepping into the room filled with memories of him. His scent lingered, a subtle reminder of his presence.

Lisa's eyes wandered to the bookshelf and the photograph on his desk – pictures of him and his sister sofia together, smiling and happy.

Her thoughts drifted to their conversations, the way he listened, And tease her at the same time, the gentle way he read that book that night.

Why did she feel this way? She couldn't explain.

Lisa sat in his chair, feeling his warmth, his presence. She closed her eyes, remembering his voice.

Lisa's eyes remained closed, her mind filled with memories of Lugard. She recalled their first meeting, their wedding day, and the quiet moments they shared.

Why did his absence feel like a part of her was missing? She couldn't rationalize it.

As she sat, surrounded by his belongings, Lisa felt a deep connection to him. It was as if their bond transcended physical distance.

Her thoughts turned to their conversations, the way he listened attentively and pretend he didn't care, his cold personality and his gentle guidance.

Lisa's heart swelled with emotion. She realized how much she valued their relationship, how much he meant to her, but thinking of someone else who she love dearly her heart turn cold.

Suddenly, she stood up,

Lisa walked down to the sitting room, the soft glow of the lamps enveloping her. She settled into the plush couch, grabbing the remote to find a movie.

Just as she found her favorite rom-com, the driver walked in with shopping bags.

"Mrs. Lu, I'm sorry I forgot these earlier," he said, handing her the bags.

"No worries, thank you," Lisa replied with a smile.

She took the bags and handed them to Jenkins, the butler, who had appeared silently.

"Should I place these in your room, Mrs.?" Jenkins asked.

"No, take them to Mr. Lu's room. They're for him," Lisa instructed, returning to her movie.

Jenkins' eyes sparkled with delight as he took the bags. "Something for our master!" he thought, his heart full of warmth.

As he entered Mr. Lu's room, Jenkins couldn't help but notice the unusual instruction. Mr. Lu had always been private, but never to the point of keeping his wife out.

Jenkins' curiosity piqued, he carefully unpacked the bags, arranging the items with precision.

Her phone vibrated on the couch beside her. She ignored it, focusing on the movie.

The phone vibrated again, persistent.

Lisa sighed, glancing at the screen. Her stepmother, Rower's name flashed.

After the fifth call, Lisa finally answered, calmly without saying a word.

her stepmother's angry voice erupted from the other end of the line. "You bastard! How dare you slap my daughter, you garbage!"

Lisa's expression remained serene, her eyes fixed on the TV.

"Because your garbage daughter found me first," Lisa replied calmly.

Lisa's stepmother, Mrs. Claire, was so angry she felt like she wanted to vomit blood. "How dare you call my daughter garbage!" Mrs. Claire shouted angrily.

"You dare me?" Lisa replied calmly, taking a sip of her tea, her eyes never leaving the TV screen.

Mrs. Claire's voice turned menacing. "You'll pay for your insolence, Lisa. Mera will make sure you regret ever crossing her."

Lisa's expression remained serene. "I'm looking forward to it."

The line went dead.

Lisa set her phone aside, returning to her movie night, unperturbed.
