I left Emily in the living room, and I went to get the medication and then went to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
When I walked back to the living room, I saw that Emily was curled up slightly and had fallen asleep. Her head was leaned on the head of the couch, and her hair spilled like silk across it. As I walked closer to her, my eyes furrowed in concern once again. Her skin was pale, and her face was flushed. My heart swelled with emotions as I watched her. I hate seeing her like this. I wanted to let her sleep because I didn't have the heart to wake her, but I knew that she had to take the medication to help her feel better.
"Emily." I whispered her name. She shifted slightly, but she didn't open her eyes. "Emily." I said again, and this time, her eyes fluttered open, and she gazed at me weakly. I held the glass of water in one hand and the medication in the other. She smiled at me and took them from me. I watched as she took it and handed the glass back to me.
