"Thank you for agreeing to have lunch with me," Tyler said after the waitress placed our orders in front of us.
"I don't mind. I wanted to." I replied as I took a sip of my mocha frappuccino.
Tyler nodded slightly before saying in a low tone. "I was worried you wouldn't, considering the situation."
I looked at him then, shocked that he wasn't avoiding the situation or pretending that it's not there. "No, I wanted to see you," I replied. More than I wanted to admit, I thought to myself. And besides, nothing was wrong with having lunch with him. It was like we were catching up.
"Good. I'm glad that we don't have to be strangers." Tyler said with a small smile.
I nodded my head in agreement. I started to feel a little discomfort as I ate the sandwich that I had ordered. Did he know that I have a boyfriend? Would it be awkward if I brought it up? I sighed inwardly. Of course, I have to tell him. He needs to know.
