章節 71: A Feast with Friends

The sun was setting over Konoha, casting long shadows across the village as Haruto wiped the sweat from his brow, catching his breath after an intense sparring session with Guy and his father, Might Duy. The day's training had pushed them all to their limits, but it left Haruto with a satisfying sense of accomplishment.

"How about dinner at my place tonight?" Haruto offered, smiling as he stretched. "I've got some boar marinating. It's ready to cook."

Guy's eyes lit up instantly, his signature grin spreading across his face. "Yosh! Haruto, that sounds amazing! I'm starving after today's training!"

Duy chuckled, giving his son a pat on the back. "Nothing like a hearty meal after hard work."

As they made their way toward Haruto's apartment, they spotted Daichi Uzumaki, Haruto's training partner, on his way home. Daichi had been training on his own, but from the look on his face, it had been just as intense.

"Hey, Daichi!" Haruto called out. "We're having dinner at my place. Want to join?"

Daichi paused, glancing at the group before his stomach growled. He smirked, knowing his body had already answered for him. "Yeah, I'm in. I could eat a whole boar right now."

Haruto's apartment was modest but functional, a space that suited his practical needs perfectly. He wasn't one for extravagance—he preferred efficiency, both in his home and his lifestyle. Guy, Duy, and Daichi made themselves comfortable in the living area as Haruto headed to the small kitchen to prepare dinner.

The boar had been marinating for hours in a mix of herbs and spices. Haruto had become quite adept at cooking what he hunted, and tonight's meal was going to showcase those skills.

Dinner Begins

The scent of roasting boar soon filled the apartment, rich and savory, making everyone's stomachs growl in anticipation. Haruto brought out the platters, placing them on the low table.

Guy's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Yosh! Haruto, this smells incredible! I can feel my energy coming back just from the smell alone!"

Daichi, his usual quiet demeanor relaxed in the presence of friends, nodded appreciatively. "You're really good at this. Didn't expect boar to smell this good."

Haruto shrugged, a modest smile on his face. "It's all in the seasoning. Just takes practice."

The four of them dug into the meal, and soon the room was filled with the sound of satisfied chewing and appreciative murmurs. The boar was perfectly tender, the herbs adding just the right amount of flavor. Even Duy, usually more restrained, let out a contented sigh.

Lively Conversations

Guy, predictably, was the first to speak as he plowed through his second helping. "Haruto, this is amazing! I feel like I could run all the way to the Hokage Monument after this!"

Daichi rolled his eyes but smirked. "You'd probably pass out halfway, Guy."

Guy shook his head enthusiastically, pointing his chopsticks in the air. "No way! The power of youth knows no limits!"

Duy chuckled, clearly amused by the banter between the boys. "It's hard to argue with Guy when he's like this. But Haruto, you've really outdone yourself. This is a meal well worth the training."

Haruto grinned. "Glad you like it. I've been experimenting with different herbs, trying to get it just right."

Daichi, who was usually more reserved, leaned back with a rare grin. "I didn't think boar could taste this good. Next time, I'll bring something from the Uzumaki family recipes."

Haruto raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Uzumaki family recipes, huh? I'll definitely hold you to that."

End of the Evening

As the meal continued, the group fell into easy conversation, sharing stories from training and making plans for future meals together. Duy shared some tales from his youth, while Guy, as always, kept the energy high with his constant optimism and larger-than-life presence. Daichi, usually the quiet observer, chimed in with sharp remarks that kept everyone laughing.

By the time the plates were empty, everyone leaned back, fully satisfied. Haruto glanced around the room, feeling a deep sense of contentment. Moments like these—where training took a backseat to camaraderie and laughter—were rare, but they reminded him of the importance of having good friends by his side.

"Thanks for the invite, Haruto," Daichi said, standing up and stretching. "Next time, I'll bring something from home. We'll make it a real feast."

"Looking forward to it," Haruto replied with a grin.

Guy stood, striking his usual over-the-top pose. "Yosh! Haruto, that was amazing! We'll definitely do this again. And next time, I'll bring dessert!"

Duy smiled warmly as he placed a hand on Haruto's shoulder. "Thank you for this, Haruto. You've got a real knack for cooking. Let's make this a regular thing."

As they all said their goodbyes and stepped out into the cool night air, Haruto stood in the doorway for a moment, watching them leave. He smiled to himself, feeling grateful for the company and the good food they had shared.

Closing the door, Haruto took a moment to reflect on the night. Life as a shinobi was hard, but moments like this—moments of friendship and laughter—made it all worth it.
