章節 34: Interlude: Demon king reports
Both the Dreyer kingdom and the Hendrix kingdom were located at the northern hemisphere within the central continent of H'estion, the Hero King Arthur, after driving back the demons, he created his kingdom to serve as a sort of bulwark to keep the demons from invading inward into the inner part of the continent.
This was successfully accomplished, however his success at driving away the demons was no small feat and due to this many flocked to his kingdom, expanding and eventually the Kingdom of Arthuras had taken over the entirety of the northern hemisphere.
Arthuras became a prosperous nation, with its king having been blessed by the Gods themselves, there were even rumours that the sword Dawn was the key to the gates of the high plane, the realm of the gods although the truth to that claim is unknown but it served as good enough myth for the citizens to assume that the Hero king would ascend to the high plane.
Arthur Hendrixius De Dreyer lived for a total of 175 years, spending many of them as a protector and king of the realm, making sure the Demons remained where they were, however he was still mortal as such he died, leaving his descendants everything he owned.
Unfortunately his death created a rift within the family and wars of succession were always fought, with vicious and grim outcomes until eventually the Kingdom of Arthuras was split into two, with one side taking the name of Hendrix and the other taking the name Dreyer.
Two kingdoms, that much like a family, would be at constant odds with each other, both waging war and forging peace with each other constantly, similar to how siblings would fight and forgive each other all the time.
However with the death of King Arthur, the demons took this as their chance to invade and when the demons first struck, the two kingdoms were at war with each other as such they were blindsided and lost a shared territory, which was a large island north of the continent and the demons settled there permanently.
It is where the demons currently reside, 900 years after they took it, they would have taken part of the central continent if circumstances allowed them.
Within walls of a massive castle built from obsidian black stone and onyx marble, there was a room, decorated and built to look like an office, behind a desk there sat a young man who looked no older than 20 years old, he wore a black t-shirt and some loose trousers, his eyes were a deep crimson, if it weren't for the pristine black goat horns on his forehead, he would be indistinguishable from a human.
On his desk was a small scale city with small little toy people, all placed carefully within the city, and all positioned to appear as though doing their assigned jobs.
There were other riff raff characters going about their day depicting a bustling city and busy city.
"Oh! Bellicus art thou such a scoundrel, why hast thou betrayed me so"
The demon king said, his voice mimicking that of a woman and his hand moving two figures, one female and the other male.
"Serena, my dear tis not so, truly. My love for thee, burns furiously"
The demon king switched his voice this time mimicking that of a man.
"If this be the truth, then why hast thou been seen prancing about with that harlot, Rebecca?"
He continued.
"Tis not so, my beloved, Rebecca is but an acquaintance…
Unfortunately he was unable to continue his role playing.
"Ehem!"
He was interrupted, causing him to jolt up in surprise and his eyes saw the tall figure of his beautiful attendant.
"Xena! When did you get in?"
He asked, doing his best to mask the embarrassment.
"A while ago my king, but I didn't wish to interrupt"
She responded as she gestured with her hand at his miniature city, she could tell at a glance that it took hours to set up just right.
"Nonsense, my darling, you may interrupt me whenever, your company is always a pleasure"
He said with a grin and Xena suppressed a blush from such a compliment, she could never get used to it despite the king handing out compliments whenever he sees her.
"I can not do that my lord, I am simply your attendant, please don't raise my hopes up"
She expressed, as she adjusted her square rimmed glasses.
Xena was a tall woman, with a chubby figure, chubby in the way that it made her a sexy thick plus sized beauty of woman, with ample breasts and thick thighs, her figure was magnificent, her skin was the colour of beautifully vanished light brown wood.
She had illustrious and full curly hair and honey gold eyes behind purple square rimmed spectacles and she had short but cute pointy horns on the sides of her forehead.
"How can I not raise your hopes up, you're clearly a woman fit to stand by my side, but that's a discussion for another day, why are you here?"
He asked and Xena cleared throat to speak, before that she took a look at the clipboard she was carrying.
"I came to report on the experiments we were conducting to bypass the barrier that protected the twin kingdoms."
She said and the King leaned back on his chair and commanded her to continue.
"Okay then report"
His eyes looked at her body from down up, appreciating every inch of it. She wore a rather modest dress that he couldn't figure out if it was a good or bad thing.
"Firstly, Sataen's experiments with transmutation have yielded zero results, no matter how much we change the shape of a demon, to either make it more human like or more animal like, the barrier still rejects us, there's seemingly no hope on that front"
She explained and the Demon King gave her a nod in understanding, the twin Kingdoms are protected by a barrier, set up by King Arthur, despite having triumphed against the demons in his time the hero king still sought to ensure that his people would be protected from the demons, this time using a less bloody but more annoying method.
"Hmm, continue"
He said, his face now gaining a more displeased look on his face, he couldn't help but curse the hero king in his mind.
The human not only managed to kill the previous demon King but also made it difficult for the demons to advance any further. being thwarted by an enemy even after they've died years later was more than a little frustrating.
"Secondly, any attempts at locating the Witch's seal and or finding any of her disciples has also been unsuccessful, Ereames requested to come back as he is "tired of this nonsensical chase" his words"
She reported and the Demon King frowned deeper, causing Xena to slightly step back cautiously.
"Tell that fucking idiot, he will do as his Demon King tells him or else I'll rip his body to shredds and feed it to the pit of monsters"
He said as his own anger began to show through, his aura engulfed the room creating a stuffy and heavy atmosphere, to anyone in the room with him they would have been struggling to breathe due to the immense pressure, however Xena was not just anyone, she stood there completely unphased.
He gestured for her to continue and she did.
"While her transmutation experiments were a failure, Sataen proposed another idea, it's still a form of transmutation however the idea is to transmute a demon into a marble size ball and then stuffing them inside a human meat suit and have the meat suit traverse into to the twin kingdoms, where in which she'll transmute the demon back to normal"
"hmm that's a good idea but in order to transmute the demons back to normal wouldn't she need to have an already existing magic circle at the location we're trying to infiltrate?"
"She says she's working to bypass that, although it will take some time"
The demon king sighed and controlled his aura relieving the room of the pressure and atmosphere.
"I hope she's not saying that just so she could take her sweet time."
He said as he turned his head to the window, looking at the bright blue sky outside.
"Anything else to report?"
"Yes, about a month ago General Griffith detected an usually surge of aura within the twin kingdoms, at first we assumed it must have been some sort of S-rank monster but a monster of that calibre so close is unlikely, plus the Hero king destroyed nearly all the dungeons in that region so we are unsure what it was"
"I remember that, I felt it as well, if it felt like it spawned out of nowhere then disappeared, why is it important?"
"Well the General thought It's worth mentioning since it might mean the twin kingdoms have a powerful weapon on their hands"
She explained and the demon king hummed as he thought.
"For the time being, we can't do much about that, since we can't send spies into the twin Kingdoms, so we'll ignore it."
"As you say my king, that's all I had to report, do you have any orders you want to give out or instructions?"
"None so far, just keep doing what you've been doing, now get out, you interrupted me when I was in the middle of something"
He ordered and Xena took a bow and exited the room, leaving the demon king to his devices. She wasn't going to comment on the fact that the Demon king played with dolls but it was a good thing that only she was allowed to see him in his office.
