章節 68: CH68

"Treasure vault?" Helag asked with interest. "Do you have good stuff in there?"

"Of course," Count Huen said proudly, confident in his family's vault.

Helag thought for a moment. "Let's hope your vault can satisfy me."

His tone was blunt. While wizards couldn't slaughter ordinary people en masse, killing a few wouldn't raise any eyebrows.

Count Huen nodded nervously but felt more confident thinking about the many treasures in the vault. "It should satisfy him."

Helag extended his hand over Count Huen's wound.

The dark energy particles in the wound began to dissipate, and Helag slowly absorbed them.

Count Huen felt a strange sensation; the wound seemed less itchy and painful.

Since Helag was being paid, he didn't cut corners. He carefully absorbed every dark energy particle from the wound.

Josh and the others watched quietly as Helag treated Count Huen. Though they didn't understand the process, they saw the blackness in the wound gradually decreasing.

They had always thought the black stuff was poison and never figured out what it was, unable to remove it.

After half an hour, Helag withdrew his hand. "The wound is fine now. Just treat it as a regular injury."

The blackness in Count Huen's wound was gone, revealing red flesh with some blood oozing out.

The castle's doctor quickly arrived to reapply medicine and bandage the wound.

Though Helag had healing potions, he wouldn't waste them on a noble. That would be a waste of resources.

After the doctor treated the wound, Count Huen visibly relaxed, his complexion improving with more color in his face.

Helag admired Count Huen. As an ordinary person, dark energy particles were torturous, lingering in the wound.

Helag had smelled anesthetics on the wound, likely used for pain relief.

Leaning back in his chair, Count Huen took a deep breath and said, "Thank you, Mr. Helag. I feel much better. Now it's time to fulfill my promise."

He stood, and Kieran immediately supported him.

"Mr. Helag, this way," Count Huen said, leading the way.

Josh and Luchi didn't follow, understanding the vault wasn't for them.

Count Huen personally led Helag down to the third basement level of the castle.

In front of a massive iron door stood two knight-level guards in heavy armor.

Count Huen took a wooden box from his pocket, revealing a bronze key inside.

He inserted the key into the door and turned it, triggering the sound of countless mechanical gears.

With a soft sound, the door slowly opened, revealing a passageway.

"You two stay here. No one is allowed in," Count Huen instructed the guards.

Turning to Helag, he said, "Please, Mr. Helag."

The passageway was lit by oil lamps. Helag followed Count Huen to another door.

This door was smaller but made of solid metal.

Count Huen reached into his clothes, revealing a small key around his neck.

He used the key to open the smaller door.

As soon as the door opened, Helag saw a golden glow.

Entering the vault, Helag was stunned.

The vast warehouse was filled with gold, jewels, and many antique vases and paintings. Helag even saw a massive coral reef.

Count Huen, now energized, proudly introduced the treasures. "These are the Banks family's accumulated treasures. Many items have been here so long, even I don't know their origins. Mr. Helag, as a great mystic, ordinary treasures won't interest you. Please, take a look and choose what you need."

Helag nodded and walked ahead. The vault was as large as a football field, filled with treasures that dazzled him.

"What's this armor?" Helag asked, noticing a full suit of armor in the corner. The material was unique, and he couldn't identify it.

More importantly, the armor seemed to have some anti-magic properties.

He infused a bit of magic into it, encountering resistance. It reminded him of Dino's ship, made from anti-magic forest wood, though the armor's effect was weaker.

"This is the armor of the legendary great knight Goodman Graff. It's said to have many magical properties. Goodman was a legendary figure from over three hundred years ago. His armor must be extraordinary. If you're interested, you can take it," Count Huen explained, noticing Helag's interest.

Helag touched the armor but shook his head. "I'll keep looking."

The armor wasn't very useful to him. He couldn't move around in such heavy armor. For spell defense, he'd rather use a dark energy shield, which was more practical for him.

Helag continued exploring and suddenly stopped, seeing a pair of eyeballs.

They were preserved in a glass jar, looking like specimens.

The eyeballs were blood-red, seemingly staring at Helag, making him uncomfortable.

"What's this?" Helag asked, recognizing the eyeballs' appearance from somewhere.

"Deep Blue, what are these?" he asked his gene chip.

[Based on the analysis, there's a 98.34% probability these are the eyes of the Kuruta tribe. The Kuruta tribe lived in remote mountain areas of the Karag Continent. When emotionally agitated, their eyes turned crimson, considered one of the world's seven most beautiful colors. Many nobles paid high prices for these red eyes, leading to the tribe's massacre. They are now extinct,] Deep Blue provided detailed information.

Helag remembered reading about these eyes as rare alchemical ingredients. He didn't need them now, but they might be useful later.

Since they were extinct, it wouldn't hurt to keep them.
