About thirty minutes ago, Joanna was ready for work. Due to the long sleep last night because of the sedative, she only had to catch up from where she left off.

Waking, up, she felt rejuvenated as she prepared herself for work. Also, it was a very good time to catch up on where she left off in the office at the time she dozed off.

Meeting Alex's extended family was now out of the way and what mattered now was focusing on meeting her target to get back not only her mother's shares but the company as well.

As she descended the stairs, it was still early, and the chef had not yet started cooking, which worked in her favor.

She could leave without Betty insisting she have breakfast. However, as she reached the door, it opened before her hand touched it.

"Good morning, ma'am, are you ready for work?" Jack asked politely, avoiding her gaze.
