章節 114: 114. Suitable To Be An Interrogator

-

Uchiha Gin, having been sent off with a casual "Let's see how you perform" by Uchiha Tajima, walked down the corridor of the courtyard with a forlorn expression.

"Hikari, you have no objections?"

Sighing, Gin tucked the map into the bag slung over his back and turned to quietly ask Uchiha Hikari, who was silently following behind him.

"As long as I'm with you, Gin, I'm fine with anything,"

The girl fanned her flushed face, feeling dizzy from the heat of the scorching summer after being wrapped in a cloak for too long. Her delicate features glowed with a tempting blush.

"It really is too hot. I'll take you for some ice later,"

Even Gin, dressed in light clothes, felt the oppressive heat, let alone Hikari, who was wrapped in a cloak. He suddenly remembered a friend's shop and promised her a treat.

Upon hearing this, Hikari's furrowed brows relaxed slightly, and she smiled, nodding at Gin.

Just as they were talking, a figure who had been waiting at the corner of the corridor slowly stepped out.

"Oh, cousin, what's up?"

Noticing that the other had been waiting for him, Gin cheerfully waved to the stern-faced Uchiha Madara.

"I want to see your jutsu,"

Madara, not one for small talk, got straight to the point. His cold expression left no room for refusal.

"Tsk, it's not like I can't show you, but..."

Knowing he couldn't avoid this, Gin rolled his dead-fish-like eyes and spoke slowly, "I agree!"

Gin's demands—food, drinks, and entertainment—were nothing new to Madara, who quickly agreed without a second thought.

"Alright, I love being friends with rich folks like you."

Gin raised an eyebrow and gestured for Madara to lead the way.

The three of them arrived at the training ground within the estate, where their younger cousin, who had just been dragged away earlier, now lay on the ground like a lifeless dog, barely breathing. Seeing the approaching group, he quickly closed his eyes and pretended to be dead.

"Hey, Izuna is still growing! Don't make him train taijutsu every day; what if it stunts his growth?"

Gin shook his head in mock dismay at the sight of the disheveled training ground and their little cousin lying limp on the ground.

Hearing this, Izuna, still pretending to be dead, felt a wave of warmth in his heart. There truly are kind people in this world.

"You should balance his taijutsu training with genjutsu drills. A genius of the Uchiha clan shouldn't be lopsided in their skills. Both the body and mind need to be trained for optimal results."

Gin earnestly advised his cousin Madara, who, upon hearing such insightful advice, couldn't help but feel impressed. He cast a more dangerous glance at the fallen Izuna.

"You're right! Izuna relies too much on his Sharingan. If he runs into someone who can outsmart him, he'll be at their mercy."

Izuna, lying on the ground, shivered as a bad feeling crept into his heart.

"Alright then, show me your jutsu, and let's see how it differs from Hashirama's,"

Madara said, returning to a battle stance. His face now bore a sinister and wild grin as he brandished a wooden practice sword, fully ready for a fight.

"Sigh, I guess there's no helping it. I'll show you just a little bit, okay?"

Gin sighed reluctantly, not wanting his cousin to delay his ice cream outing with Hikari.

Clapping his hands together, his demeanor shifted as he channeled a small amount of chakra. As green light enveloped his hands, Madara's eyes narrowed.

This presence... It's just like Hashirama's, but... stronger.

"Bring it on!"

Madara, unfazed, heightened his own presence. The cold chakra around him seemed to solidify as he pointed his wooden sword forward, turning it into a blade that clashed with Gin's energy.

"I'm coming for you... Wood Style: Great Forest Jutsu!"

Thick branches burst from the ground, swiftly coiling toward Madara, their movements as flexible as tentacles, wrapping around him from all angles.

As expected!

Seeing the familiar jutsu, a surge of frustration rose in Madara's heart, reminding him of past humiliations.

Madara and Hashirama had faced off countless times on the battlefield, their powers always evenly matched.

However, after Madara awakened the three-tomoe Sharingan, he began to surpass Hashirama slightly.

But it didn't last long, as Hashirama soon awakened a new power—this very Wood Style jutsu Gin was now using.

Wood Style was bizarre; the trees it summoned were both offensive and defensive, capable of regeneration and chakra absorption. Once trapped, escape was nearly impossible. Madara's proud Fire Style couldn't touch Hashirama's Wood Style, leaving him at a disadvantage in their recent battles, to the point where he developed a mental block.

Facing the incoming branches, Madara didn't panic.

After several bouts against Wood Style, he had developed his own countermeasures.

With a single hand seal, his Sharingan turned crimson, allowing him to clearly see the movements of every branch. Using his swift body movements, he dodged the incoming attacks one by one, closing the distance to strike at Gin.

"Is this your strategy?"

Gin didn't seem concerned as Madara's wooden sword neared his head. With a smirk, he increased his chakra output.

"I don't know if that Senju kid went easy on you, but engaging a Wood Style user in close combat is a terrible idea."

Madara, annoyed by Gin's smugness, increased the force of his strike, intending to teach his cousin a lesson. But just as the wooden sword was about to hit Gin's curly-haired head, spiked wooden branches shot out from Gin's body, quickly entangling the unsuspecting Madara.

Wood Style: EXPLODING SPEAR TECHNIQUE!

This technique sprouted multiple wooden vines from the user's body, rapidly growing into trees that could both defend and launch deadly attacks.

Caught off guard, Madara tried to twist his body to avoid the strike, but the swarm of branches ensnared him. The seemingly rigid branches became soft and flexible under Gin's control, coiling around Madara like octopus tentacles, binding him tightly.

"Let me go!"

For the first time, Madara's cold, emotionless face showed fear. Hashirama would at least chat while using his jutsu, but Gin wasn't following any scripts.

He could feel his chakra being drained by the tentacles, but that wasn't the source of his fear.

"Heh, bet you didn't know Wood Style could be used like this, huh?"

Gin manipulated the flexible branches, slipping them under Madara's clothes and against his skin, searching for "weak points." The sensation made the usually composed Madara clench his muscles in sheer panic, instinctively tightening his grip to avoid losing his dignity.

"Oh? Oh! Oh~~~"

Watching this bizarre scene unfold, Hikari and Izuna, who had been watching from the sidelines, were left in complete shock. Izuna, especially, found himself horrified as he saw his revered older brother being so humiliated. His body tensed up in sympathetic discomfort.

Hikari, who had never seen such an intense scene, blushed deeply.

Whether from the heat or the spectacle, she could barely contain her surprise.

"I surrender! I surrender!"

Feeling the branches' suspicious movements, Madara, who usually held his pride above all else, finally gave in.

"What? You're giving up already?"

Gin was surprised at how quickly his cousin caved. How was Madara going to stand against Hashirama's giant Wood Golems if he couldn't handle a little tentacle jutsu?

Fearing that this encounter might scar Madara and cause him to lose his nerve against Wood Style in the future, Gin hurriedly retracted the branches. The last thing he wanted was to be blamed for Uchiha's defeat because Madara panicked every time he saw Wood Style.

"Are you okay? Are you okay? I'm still learning, so my control wasn't perfect. Don't hold it against me."

Gin apologized sincerely to the fallen Madara, acting as though he hadn't just put him through the wringer.

"Your Wood Style… it's not quite like Hashirama's,"

Madara muttered through gritted teeth, his body still tingling from the strange experience.

"Well, whose do you think is stronger?"

Gin shamelessly asked, fishing for praise.

"In terms of sheer power, yours is slightly weaker than Hashirama's, but…"

"But what?"

"I think your Wood Style would be more suitable for interrogation. It could revolutionize the field."

Madara shuddered as he recalled the sensation, beads of cold sweat forming on his forehead.

Gin's Wood Style tentacles, with their ability to grow, shrink, and fit any situation, would indeed make a terrifying interrogation tool.

Hearing Madara's honest assessment, Gin found his future career path crystal clear. After finishing this mission, he was going to dedicate his life to the dungeon.

"Heh, I knew it. I'm destined to work in the dungeon forever!"
