章節 26: Chapter 26: Life Saving Talisman

The doctors and nurses were amazed when they saw that the young man, who was at death's door, was not only alive and well, but totally unharmed. They heard from the crowd at the scene that his car had crashed with the truck and rolled and fire was ignited. The car was burned to skeletons and this man was unscathed.

Even if he wasn't burned to death, he should have at least had a concussion. They were prepared to examine him with various tests and scans. While they were discussing how lucky this young man was, Bo Cheng, who was previously unconscious, slowly woke up. Those terrifying images flashed through his mind in a mess, and when he saw people, he thought he was dead.

Bo Cheng, now sober, stared in confusion at the group of people in front of him. He was dumbstruck for a moment but immediately realized he was out of danger and had been carried into the ambulance.

"Are you all right?" one of the doctors in the ambulance asked him.

"I... I'm not dead?" Bo Cheng's voice shook. He remembered how the sniper shot him, and while escaping, a truck struck his car, which was fully consumed by fire. He had tried to escape, but the inertia of the car pushed him into the passenger seat, where he hit his head. Before he passed out, he thought he was going to die.

He also remembered regretting not listening to Fu Rong when he entered Quilling Street. He suddenly searched his jacket and found the now blackened yellow talisman, which turned into ashes and scattered from his fingertips. Bo Cheng was stunned and unable to say a single word.

"Yo... Brother, you are very much alive. You are really lucky. The car burned to its frame, but you escaped unscathed. It's really unbelievable. It's a miracle," one of the paramedics near Bo Cheng told him.

What did they mean? His car was burned to its frame, and he wasn't burned to death? Bo Cheng suddenly and inexplicably thought of the talisman, which had just turned to ashes. Was it really the life-saving talisman that saved him? Bo Cheng was stunned. All of a sudden, he thought of the little girl's prediction and how she urged him to buy the talisman. Besides the talisman, he couldn't think of any other explanation. At the thought that this talisman had protected him from being burned to death, Bo Cheng was so horrified that he swallowed his saliva and almost choked.

His eyes were full of horror, shock, and disbelief. Thinking of how Sister Fu Rong had gotten him out of the claws of hell with just this talisman and foretold his accident, she seemed like a godly person.

If Sister Fu hadn't given him this talisman, and if Xie Bowen hadn't compelled him to carry it, he could have died tonight. Recalling the car crash before he passed out, his heart raced, and his back was drenched in cold sweat. He felt weak all over and was dreadfully pale, with cold sweat trickling down his forehead.

He felt that the most fortunate thing in his life was meeting Sister Fu Rong. Thinking of the life-saving talisman, Bo Cheng's eyes glowed with excitement. His first thought now was to immediately buy more of these talismans. This talisman was so powerful—he simply wanted as many as he could buy, knowing that it was equal to a life. Bo Cheng's entire being trembled at the thought of the talisman's power.

Meanwhile, Mu Ling carried Fu Rong to the car, and Xie Bowen followed him.

"Fifth Master, you check on her. I'll drive us to the hospital," Xie Bowen said, without another word, as he sat in the driver's seat and started the car.

Mu Ling looked at the pale girl and felt his heart ache for her. This stupid girl—did she really need to risk her life for an outsider? Even though she had saved his best friend and wanted his well-being, Mu Ling couldn't control his emotions when he saw her unwell.

He looked at her pale face and sighed. He took his coat and draped it over her to keep her warm. After a few minutes, Fu Rong slowly opened her eyes. She felt warm, and her body was energized by abundant yang energy. She looked around and realized she was leaning on Mu Ling, the reason she could recover so quickly. She wanted to pull away from his embrace, but, greedy for yang energy, her body leaned closer to him.

Due to the abundance of purple qi and yang energy, her pale face flushed and turned rosy. She regained full consciousness. Mu Ling, noticing her flushed face, thought she was embarrassed to be hugged. He immediately smiled but still moved his hands away.

Fu Rong instantly moved away from Mu Ling, but her eyes were longing for the purple qi.

"Ahh... my yang pill... Why did it have to be Mu Ling?" she thought.

Mu Ling, seeing her expression, believed that the young girl fancied him but embarrassed, not realizing that what she longed for was his yang energy.
