Anabel's face contorted in agony as Ceaser pulled her hair up, making her look at the princess. The princess had bright blonde hair, crimson red eyes, and fair skin.
She was sitting on her bed with a grave look.
"See what you did?" Caesar asked, still pulling her hair.
As a result of the spilled water, the princess had fallen and hurt herself. This made Anabel think; did the princess not see the water? Or is she just pretending so as to get Ceaser's attention?
Caesar finally left Anabel's hair and crouched down before the princess. His eyes softened as he spoke "Oh my beloved Katy, once the physician gets here, you'll get back on your feet again."
Anabel's eyes drew wide open staring at them. She stood up "What! What did you just call her?" Anabel asked without thinking.
Sarah's hand swept across her face in a vengeful slap. "How dare you speak to the prince in such a manner? Who do you think you are?"
Anabel stood shocked; she had never been hit before. Her cheek burned, it made her eyes well up. She was confused, why was all this happening to her?
Anabel was ordered by Ceaser to be locked up.
In the cold lonely prison, behind bars, Anabel sat. The time she spent there was enough for her to grasp everything that had happened already.
Standing up, Anabel began to pace while muttering. "So I died, and now I'm here. Somehow I've gone from being a superstar to a lowlife maid. My name is now Anabel, and the princess is answering my actual name. I spoke rudely to Prince Ceaser and now I'm in prison"
Anabel pulled her hair in frustration "Why the hell is this happening to me!?"
Kirh appeared before her. "If you keep pulling your hair, you might get bald when you're older," he said.
Shocked, Anabel asked, "Who are you?". He sounded familiar to her but he didn't look like it.
Kirh narrowed his eyes. "It's me, Kirh," he answered.
"Oh," she gave him a once-over. He had dark blue hair and dark blue eyes; the rest of him was covered in a cloak.
"How are you enjoying your new life?" He asked. Anabel's expression changed and she almost grabbed him.
"You! You're the one who has done this to me. I used to be an idol, an idol!; now I'm a freaking housemaid!," Anabel grimaced, the weight of her situation almost made her cry.
Kirh tilted his head "Isn't this what you wanted?"
"No, I mean yes, but I wanted to be the princess, not the princess's maid!"
Pouting, Kirh shrugged "Too late to change that now"
Desperate, Anabel fell on her knees "I want out, I want to go back home to my world. Take me back, please, Kenny!"
"It's Kirh. Are you sure you want to go back?" Kirh corrected and asked.
Anabel nodded vigorously, "Yes, is it possible?" she asked
Kirh placed his hand on his chin, thinking. "Well, it is. I can do that"
Anabel's face lit up with hope sparkling in her eyes.
"But, some things are involved. For you to leave this world, you'll have to fulfill the destiny of Anabel San"
Anabel's hopeful face turned grave. "What do you mean to fulfill?"
"Well, Katy Sharp was destined to die on the 24th of June by drowning, and you died. Anabel San has her own life; if you can complete her story, fulfill her destiny, I'll come to take you," Kirh explained.
"Does this mean I'll have to die too?" Anabel asked.
"Probably," Kirh shrugged. "This hasn't been done before, but I'm sure I can pull it off"
Anabel stood up, reeling with happiness. "Oh, thank you, thank you, Kiran" She tried to embrace him, but he recoiled.
"It's Kirh" he corrected again.
Anabel nodded. "Okay. I have one more favor to ask," she said, but Kirh disappeared the moment she was just about to speak. Anabel was just about to ask when and how Anabel would die but he ran away.
With new hope, Anabel sat patiently waiting for her release.
Later in the day, Caesar took the leverage of coming to warn her during her release. Clothed in royalty, he approached her cell.
"You vile woman with no respect for a member of the royal family, I hope these past hours were enough for you to reflect on your brazen attitude."
Anabel came out with a bright wide smile. She bowed slightly before him, surprising him. She said, "I deeply apologize, Prince Ceaser. I assure you it'll never happen again." She raised her head to meet his marveled look.
She turned to leave, "I'll be going now,"
"Wait!" Anabel turned. Caesar cleared his throat. "The cell is dirty, and your uniform has been soiled. Get it changed," he ordered.
Still smiling, Anabel responded, "Okay, prince." Walking down the hall in high spirits, Anabel suddenly stopped when she walked past a reflective mirror.
"Woah," she exclaimed while reaching out to her face. She looked different. Brown hair and green eyes, these weren't her features, even her boobs had gotten bigger.
Staring deeply into her new self, she whispered, "This…is Anabel San, no, I am Anabel San." For now, she thought.
Anabel's mind snapped. Kirh said that Anabel has a life, which is hers now, but she knew nothing about the body she took over.
In deep thought, Anabel walked down the lonely corridor leading out to the Imperial Garden.
So far, everything has been exactly the way the love simulation game was; the only thing is that Anabel isn't the main character; rather, she is a mere maid.
A sigh escaped Anabel's lips. 'What was her role again?' Anabel asked herself. She often came across the character during the game but always skipped past it cause it didn't involve the princess standing out.
Did Anabel even die in the game? What happened to her after Princess Katy married Ceaser?
Getting to the garden, Anabel crouched down, still pondering deeply. 'Other than being a side character, what other role was given to Anabel? If I'm here, where's the real Anabel? What kind of life did she live before now? What became of Anabel after the game ended?'
She had a lot of questions running through her head but the only person that could've answered them ran away. A soft sigh escaped her lips.
"You must love roses"
Anabel heard from behind. It was only then she realized she was crouching before a bed of roses. It was a habit of hers to lose track of reality when in deep thought.
She arched her head backward and looked up to see who spoke. Her eyes widened, and she stumbled.
