No wonder Abigail looked so happy; she had once heard Nathaniel Jones tell an embarrassing story about Sawyer when he was little.
"Oh, Sawyer dear, come here and join us," Martha said excitedly when she spotted him standing in the doorway.

"Your grandfather told the story of when you got your first horse and insisted on riding it immediately. And the first thing that happened when you rode was that it was being thrown into a puddle by the horse." Martha laughed as she repeated the story.
"Yes, Sawyer, it was so hilarious to recall those wonderful times when you were a shy and cute young boy with fearlessness in his eyes until the horse threw you off his back. Since then, you have become a cautious boy who hated horses and hesitated to take riding lessons, but a cute boy still. Do you remember?" Nathaniel chimed in, still chuckling happily.
