Ethan scoffed bitterly. "Justice? This isn't justice. It's obsession. Thomas didn't kill your brother; it was a tragic accident. And frankly, I think the real target wasn't even the Brooks couple. Someone wanted Thomas Williams dead, but unfortunately, the wrong people got into his car."

He narrowed his eyes as he studied her to see if there was any change in her expression. But she remained as impassive as a statue, the smoke curling lazily from her lips.

"Tell me, Lydia… was it you?" he asked doubtfully. "Did you plan to kill Thomas and end up murdering your own brother instead?"

She didn't reply. The unflinching calm in her eyes sent a chill down his spine.
