Ava quickly pulled out her phone and started filming them, her hands shaking with nervousness. She crouched low beneath the open window as she listened to their conversation.

"I can't stay here any longer." Brian's face was tight with anxiety. "I fooled Nicholas Baker and convinced him you weren't with me that day, but it won't hold forever. That man is dangerous. And Dylan? He is even worse. If he finds out the truth, he'll kill us both. We need to leave, right away."

"No," Gianna said sharply, "I'm not running away—not yet. This time, I've set up a trap so perfect that Ava can't escape. Dylan won't find out anything. He trusts me completely."

Her words sent a shiver down Ava's spine. Dylan's trust was like a weapon, which gave her the courage to go all out against Ava.
