Linus stood safe on first base, a sense of triumph lighting up his expression. His teammates cheered him on from the dugout, some clapping and others calling out in encouragement. He couldn't help but grin; his first hit felt like a big step forward, a small but satisfying victory. The feeling of standing on base, actually contributing, was exhilarating.

As he took in the view from first base, Linus glanced at Filip, who was walking up to the batter's box. His mind began to race, thoughts fluttering about his options. The idea of stealing second crossed his mind, He was quick; maybe he could make it. 

But he dismissed the thought, deciding not to make any impulsive decisions. It would be smarter to wait for a signal from the coach if he were to steal and if he had gotten caught stealing it would have basically undone his hit.
