章節 200: ov2

"And… it's done!"

Amata pressed the enter key, initiating the timed release of the emails he had carefully composed for his family and friends.

A full day for his family to absorb the message, and two days for his friends to receive and process the news.

A faint smile played upon his lips. Though they may not be his blood relatives, he had grown to regard them as one, as was the case with time's passage.

Glancing at the clock, he noted the hour: 23:19.

It still felt surreal, waking up in the world of Overlord. Amata couldn't help but chuckle as he reminisced about his early memories. It had taken him quite some time to discern his exact location in this new realm. The revelation came when he overheard his younger brother casually mentioning the name "YGGDRASIL."

That was the moment when his purpose and goal became clear, prompting him to begin formulating an optimal plan.

Early on, he had realized that this world did not conform to his desires and expectations. YGGDRASIL, even in its early stages, was far from a basic MMO game. While Maruyama had stated its heavy influence from Dungeons & Dragons, that comparison merely scratched the surface. It was akin to likening an airplane to a bee.

Beyond the few races and spells inspired by its predecessors, YGGDRASIL drew from a wide range of previous games, including elements from the likes of GTA, albeit in its own unique way.

What he discovered was that YGGDRASIL was an intensely competitive and intricately complex game. Money certainly played a role, but dedication and luck were the true factors determining the success of players and rankers.

Even the conquest of Nazarick itself was the result of a convergence of fortuitous circumstances, with the stars aligning to make it happen.

It was this discovery of the nigh-impossibility that was the conquest of Nazarick that made him wary of butterflies and waves. If he had approached the guild sooner, it might have led to the failure of the guild's formation. If he became too ambitious in the want for strength, it might lead to some major discrepancies in the new world's history and present. And so on and so forth.

The extinction of true dragons, the arrival of the six gods, and the continued subjugation of humans by other races as livestock— these were just the important possibilities that could see change in he gave too loud a fart.

Even his interactions in the real world were measured. No overwhelming connections.

He didn't let this fear bar him from knowledge, of course. He had made attempts to locate the prominent figures from the canon's past, the Six Great Gods, the Eight Greed Kings, and the leader of the Thirteen Heroes, the hero guy. However, his efforts were in vain due to his limited knowledge, preventing him from accurately identifying them. Despite his interest in uncovering these individuals, his lack of information became a hindrance to his search.

But his interest was more focused on YGGDRASIL.

As an avid explorer of the game world, he ventured extensively and could possibly be considered the most well-traveled player in YGGDRASIL. He dedicated himself to researching the game's history, delving deep into the accounts of significant events such as The Fall of Heaven and The Age of Mystics.

Through his explorations, he unearthed rare items and ancient spells, going so far as to defeat an elder dragon single-handedly. This remarkable accomplishment granted him the prestigious reward of a unique race option, but he rejected the publication of his achievement on the game's website.

After three years since the establishment of Ainz Ooal Gown, Amata joined their ranks with surprising ease, bringing the total number of members to forty-two.

It was reassuring to discover that his presence had minimal impact on the timeline.

During this time, he forged both shallow and genuine connections, contributed to the development of notable NPCs, and even crafted his own unique characters.

All female, of course. With busts and curves to kill for.

Amata licked his lips in anticipation, his pants tightening…

"Y'all just wait, me pretty lil' gals. In just about forty minutes, I'll be fillin' yur tight little cunts with me pent-up lust."

He hoped that Satoru would heed his advice, otherwise he would ensure that he deeply regretted his choices.

Amata had taken precautions by adding vague descriptions to his and his NPCs' biographies, as well as incorporating a wide variety of ordinary attire and lingerie.

And his intentions extended beyond his existing waifus; Amata aimed to expand his harem with captivating individuals from the new world as well. He had even positioned himself as a semi-waifu catalog contractor.

It mattered little if the females from the new world lacked much in the way of beauty— at least compared to the NPCs.

Moving to his dive gear, he established a connection to YGGDRASIL and selected his modified new avatar. It resembled a realistic interpretation of Arthur Pendragon from the Fate series.

His avatar portrayed a tall, slender, and muscular figure with an exquisitely handsome face falling under the category of beauty than handsome. His bright green eyes possessed a magical glow that radiated in the darkness, complementing his long, shoulder-length blond hair reminiscent of Artoria rather than her male counterpart.

Amata also painstakingly recreated the legendary armor and sword. However, instead of bestowing the sword with the name Excalibur, he opted for the original moniker, Caliburn. The name Caladfwlch simply did not have the same smooth and melodic quality.

He had, once upon a time, pondered the idea of recreating the Knights of the Round Table — a true combat unit loyal to him — contemplating the possibility of establishing his own independent kingdom in the future, separate from Nazarick. However, he ultimately decided against it.

In retrospect, he wondered if refraining from creating the knights was a mistake. Especially since none of his female companions possessed combat skills. He hadn't wanted them to be violently inclined or aggressive…

All they needed to be was emotionally intelligent, adept in political manoeuvring, nurturing, affectionate towards him and his, fertile, and exceptionally beautiful.

Priorities!

Honestly, separation was inevitable. Oh well, he would just have to work with the inhabitants of the new world.

Appearing in the throne room with a dazzling flash, he immediately located his friend, knowing exactly where he would be. A smile formed on his face as he observed that Satoru had heeded his advice and altered his avatar accordingly. The NPCs were also arranged as they were in the original canon.

Seated gracefully upon the Throne of Kings, his friend's avatar emanated an air of charm and regal elegance, effortlessly conveyed even within the digital realm. His countenance featured an angular jawline and impeccably chiseled features, enhanced by deep, brooding golden eyes that seemed to peer into the depths of one's soul with profound understanding. Instead of his usual scholarly mage robes, he donned a luxurious suit of royal craftsmanship, tailored to perfection to accentuate his broad shoulders and athletic physique.

The suit exuded a rich, velvety black hue, adorned with a myriad of opulent golden jewelry and a variety of precious gemstones, with a single ring adorning his fingers. His hair was impeccably styled, boasting a sleek comb-over that further accentuated his sharp and handsome visage.

Shit, now Amata was feeling self-conscious. The dam bastard went all out on him.

'Good thing I added deeply in love with Merlin Pendragon or this bastard was going to cuck me.'

In the back of his mind, he wondered if Satoru already changed Albedo's settings. He wished he did, because his friend deserved to be loved, and Albedo was too beautiful — he still didn't know how Tabula managed to make her so — to be a slut.

'It doesn't matter, I'll just use Wish Upon A Star to make it happen immediately after I'm allowed privacy.'

A conspiratorial thought crossed his mind as he observed his friend rise from his chair at his appearance.

"I was starting to wonder if you were actually going to come." Satoru remarked with a playful tone, not a characteristic not common to him.

"Of course, buddie mine, I couldn't let you bid farewell to this magnificent game all on your own," he replied, his voice filled with lightness and joviality. He couldn't help but notice the change in Satoru's voice, no longer deep and authoritative, but now soft and gentle, akin to that of a singer, infused with a subtle undercurrent of masculinity.

Approaching the throne, he glanced at the numerous flags of past members as they swayed and waved. Unlike what it would've been in canon, there was a clear absence of the NPCs kneeling below the throne.

Satoru let out a relieved sigh, settling back onto the Legendary World Item.

"I suppose it was foolish of me to think that way. It's just that… well, I met up with Herohero, and he didn't seem to be doing too well."

Amata chuckled lightly, his foreknowledge granting him insight into how that conversation went.

"Late nights, exhaustion, and a sense of despondency, am I right?"

"Eh? H-how did you know?" Satoru stammered.

"Herohero is a dedicated workaholic. It's not too difficult to anticipate the path his life would take," Amata replied knowingly.

Satoru groaned, likely drawing a comparison between his own life and that of the slime.

"You don't sound very sympathetic towards his plight, Merlin. I would have thought you two would be kindred spirits."

That wasn't true…

"Never really been close with the fella, any acts of sympathy on my part would be dishonest. An' besides, Imma corporate climber, not a diligent worker."

"Yeah, I sometimes forget that you haven't had much time with the rest of them." His friend let out a sigh, "if only they hadn't abandoned this place."

The last part was spoken in a whisper, but Amata caught it. It made him frown and feel a twinge of guilt. Although he had plenty of time to assist Satoru with his obsessive tendencies, he chose not to. Amata approached his friend and offered a comforting gesture by placing an arm on his shoulder.

"C'mon, bud. You know that ain't true. YGGDRASIL just didn't hold as much value to them as it did to you and I did. Priorities an' whatnot."

He couldn't let Satoru become the poor sod that he was in canon… A moment passed as they stood in silence, before Satoru broke it.

"Hey, want to go outside and enjoy the fireworks—"

In that instant, Amata's mind painted a vivid picture of himself appearing in an unfamiliar location and timeline within the new world. It depicted a world that was half-destroyed, bearing the marks of grief-stricken inhabitants from Nazarick...

"NO!"

He shouted quite loudly before he calmed himself…"I mean, nah, let's ju—"

«You've been removed from the guild of Ainz_Ooal_Gown!»

Amata's avatar and body shuddered as an icy chill coursed through them, triggered by the unexplained notification that had suddenly materialized in his interface.

He could feel dread slowly pool in the pits of his stomach.

"Satoru, old buddie mine?" He asked with a bit of frost in his tone, "What da fuck is goin' on?"

This virtual world might not allow much in the way of expression but Amata could have sworn the edges of Satoru's avatar's lips quirked for a second.

And when he turned to look at him, the appearance he had so misjudged finally registered with blood chilling familiarity.

"Oh, you finally noticed. I honestly thought that you just ignored that as well."

There was something about his— no, that language, it was pure English unaccented by the robotic flavour of translation.

«Your Level has been reduced to 25!»

No! This couldn't be.

"Who da fuck are you?!" He shouted, "What did you do to Satoru?"

The latter question he could do without. But the former…why didn't he think about the possibility.

«Dragonoid race class has been removed!»

"Do you truly expect me to answer such nonsense?" The not-Satoru scoffed.

With haste that was almost natural, he—

«Elder Race race class has been removed!»

«Sword Master job class has been removed!»

The skill he was trying to use vanished with the removal of his rare racial class.

Fuck!

Upon closer inspection, he noticed that the bastard had locked his physical movements. Damn it! Amata could feel the pit of dread grow, evolve…

23:58:43

«Mana Twist job class has been removed!»

"Why the fuck are you doing this? Aren't you a transmigrator like me?" He asked, desperate. Why was this son of a bitch turning on him?

«Arcane Magus job class has been removed!»

«Magic Swordsman job class has been removed!»

"You are right on one thing, I am a transmigrator, but I'm in nowhere similar to you." It was the calm that infuriated him, the lack of inflection and warmth in this man's voice… It was as if he was the real EMIYA.

23:58:55

Opening his inventory, Amata felt despair claim him as well. It was empty, all his items have been taken, stolen.

«Dragon Hunter job class has been removed!»

«Solomon's Chosen job class has been removed!»

«Sorcerer of the Deep job class has been removed!»

Trying to contact the developers also yielded no results. The only essential feature that seemed to be in perfect operation was the logout.

"Bastard! You would deny—"

23:59:00

"Do not flutter yourself. Did you truly think that this was some kind of SI adventure? That you were the secret protagonist of some shitty fan work." The bastard mocked, "Judging from your generic lifestyle and choices you probably did."

All these years, sacrifices, plans… It wasn't supposed to be like this, what did he ever do to deserve such misfortune?

Didn't he treat everyone with respect? Help out in shelters and give half his payment to charities?

All for this…deranged, villain impersonating, douche fuck to ruin it all.

«Spell Weaver job class has been removed!»

"Fuckin' please, man. 'Least just take me to the new world with you, damn it!" He tried one last time, practically feeling the ethereal breaking of his heart at his shattered desires and dreams tearing at his will for anything else.

«All excess Experience Points has been successfully transferred to Player Arathorn Liaqen!»

The bastard just scoffed at him.

"You should be thanking me. Next time you won't be so careless with your identity."

23:59:36

«Log out 5, 4, 3, 2,…»

«Shutdown in 15, 14, 13, 12, 11,…»

"Fuck you!"
