章節 86: The End of a Beginning Unbound

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Jun had seen with his own eyes how Yuu Ren had risen again. She seemed to have taken some sort of drug that allowed her to keep fighting.

It wasn't surprising; inner energy manifested in different ways in people.

Kyou Kai also seemed to have lost control of her decisions for a moment, and in an attempt to further humiliate Yuu Ren, she sustained more injuries than expected.

But now the battle was over as Kyou Kai moved at incredible speed and pierced Yuu Ren's heart.

"Don't give her a chance to speak." This whisper from Jun was crucial, as anything that came from that woman's mouth would be of no benefit.

That's why Kyou Kai, who wanted to ensure Yuu Ren's death, swung her sword and decapitated her.

Crack!

"You're a loser..." Kyou Kai murmured as she fell to her knees.

The women by her side rushed to treat her wounds, while the others watched Jun approach Yuu Ren's lifeless body on the ground.

Jun pulled out a token from his chest, took a rather special black knife, and stabbed it into Yuu Ren's heart. He then placed the collar on her chest, marking to the world that he had killed the princess of Shinyuu this time.

It wasn't common for the deaths of both prominent heirs from the clans to occur so soon, but it wasn't something that deserved much attention either.

"Clear the battlefield, burn the bodies, and divide the spoils however you see fit." Jun gave the order and approached Kyou Kai, who was quietly contemplating the life that had just unfolded before her eyes.

Minutes passed, and the women who were treating her stepped away. They thought it was best not to linger any longer, so they left as soon as they had finished providing first aid.

Jun, mentally exhausted, lay down on the blood-stained grass and said, "That was easier than I expected."

"Now we can return."

"Yes, I have a promise yet to be claimed by that king... He's a fool. He could ask me to eliminate all his enemies at court, but it seems he values that opportunity more for the future of Qin."

Kyou Kai remained silent; she definitely couldn't think of much right now.

Jun noticed this, so he stood up, extended his hand to Kyou Kai, and asked with a calm look, "Do you want to walk back to the forward camp?"

"Walk?" Kyou Kai didn't quite understand Jun's question.

"I'll carry you on my back to the camp, then I'll be able to treat your wounds," Jun said, extending his hand to help Kyou Kai, who was now at peace.

With Kyou Kai in his arms, he walked away from the group, but not before telling Shen to finish the preparations.

Kyou Kai had decided not to attack Yuu's tribe; she had no desire to claim more lives as her vengeance was solely against Yuu Ren, who had no honor.

On the way, Jun, who didn't seem tired at all, said, "I can't say for sure that we did the right thing here, but we found that crazy tattooed woman before we grew old."

"Yes…"

"And now what?"

Kyou Kai looked at Jun and said, "I want your seed."

Upon hearing these words, Jun's calm expression didn't change. He looked at Kyou Kai and asked, "Are you sure about that?"

"Yes."

"Well, we've been promised to each other for a long time, so the idea of seed and marriage should feel natural." If it weren't for Kyou Kai, who understood him perfectly, Jun wouldn't have considered marriage.

He had thought about it, but finding strong women wasn't easy.

At one point, he even considered visiting the mountain tribe in Qin to propose to the woman who led them all, but when he found out her age, he realized it was impossible to fulfill the marriage.

But now, with Kyou Kai, things were different—it seemed exciting to him.

"Only on one condition." Kyou Kai, who had a broader view of the world, wiped the blood off Jun's face and said, "We must join the army to stop the wars."

Jun walked in silence; it seemed fair enough to him.

"I've always been interested in returning to a larger battlefield."

"Would you fight for a king like the one in Qin? I'm not sure I'd do that. He hasn't proven to me that he can be my king." Jun hadn't found a worthy king yet, nor was he particularly excited about being a king who sits all day signing papers.

Jun's life was in nature, and for some strange reason, he didn't want to feel alone in this place.

"Then we'll make a decision later. If we have time, we could visit our friends, who are probably going through tough times." Jun was referring to Shin, who had recently lost his instructor, the one who had personally handed over his weapon to him.

Shin was now a commander, though Jun didn't know how many men he led, but he was doing a good job in the war.

Still, Jun remembered how the idiot Shin had been given a miserable cabin as a reward for saving the life of the King of Qin numerous times.

It was all pretty pathetic.

By the time they reached the camp, several hours had passed. Jun headed to his personal tent, where he slept with Kyou Kai, and called for the medical women to tend to her.

But before they began, Jun left, walked toward the river, and started to wash the blood off his body.
