章節 9: ch9-Tutorial (4) no more money problems

"What you want?"

"I don't want anything."

Said Oliver not moving a mussel, after a silence of about half a minute the door creeped open, inviting Oliver in.

The inside wasn't much, to any normal person it would look like a normal small bar, with 1 singular bartender, and 5 round tables all with 1 to 5 people around them. But to anyone in the know this was clearly the thieves guild of this kingdom, at least a small branch of it.

Not wanting to waist his time Oliver sat himself at the bar. Which was only reserved for information dealings.

"Hello there, I don't think we've met before have we?"

The bartender asked with a scrutinizing gaze. Oliver could feel the tension rise in the whole place as everyone was on edge. Knowing the passcode wasn't good enough, if you weren't a regular you had to explain on how you ended up here.

"I don't normally operate in the Verulien Kingdom. Most of the time I'm over in the south, Melbum. A guy named Patrick said I could best sell this info to you, name is Blade."

Patrick was in fact the brother of the douchbag behind the bar. And Blade was a regular of Patrick that this bartender knew all about. Of course only stories, nothing about actual appearance, and since the Verulien Kingdom was about to be in a crisis he wasn't going to catch up with his brother for a few months, making it perfect for Oliver to slip under the radar.

"O, so your the great magician Blade, I must say I always loved the irony there. Anyway, go on, if Patrick send you to me I'm sure you know how it works here."

This might seem like a light hearted conversation but the bartender was clearly testing him, in more ways than one.

"Well yea my father was a sword fanatic. And sure I know, you first check the validity, and I can get a profit share from the use my info served, 30% if I wasn't mistaken."

Oliver could feel the tens air soften as he was served a beer. And simultaneously given a piece of paper and pen.

'I swear the god how many tests do these people need, but I guess there is reason why they stayed undiscovered for so long.'

Pushing the paper back Oliver smiled at the bartender.

"Id rather just tell you, tomorrow, an hour or so after sunrise a brown carriage is going to move through the lower city towards the inner gates. It has one white and one half brown half black horse pulling it.

In that carriage are the family joules of house Astrian, 2000 gold worth of them. They are trying to go under the radar, so they only have 4 guards inside, all of them 3th class warriors."

Unlike in [the tower] in the tutorial world the inhabitants couldn't really get that strong, the strongest of them only have 50 in their highest attribute. So they referred to strength in a 5 stage system. Each class representing another 10 in a main stat. 5th class being the weakest and 1st class being the strongest.

Oliver continued on for a few minutes, detailing basically everything about the rout of the carriage, to the exact details of the guards. Making the bartender go slightly speechless, he quickly recovered though.

"Thank you sir Blade for such detailed information. You can come back tomorrow to receive your reward if this information turns out to be true."

Oliver didn't dwell as he quickly left the thieves guild. Moving towards a seemingly random direction in the woods after a few minutes of searching around for the right direction.

This was the direction of a hidden piece, an extremely strong magic talent enhancing potion. Precisely obtained by a former acquaintance of Oliver.

Hidden pieces existed all over [the tower], and once they were taken, no one, even in a new instance of the floor could get them again. The particular one that Oliver was referred to as a luck based hidden piece.

These relied solely on luck to find them, or of course prior knowledge on where they were, but that was unique to Oliver's case.

Oliver didn't have any idea on how strong this potion was, bus as his acquaintance, Mike, could surpassed even him when it came to magic talent even though he admitted he had terrible magic talent to begin with, it was bound to be good.

It took half a day for Oliver to find the spot Mike had mentioned so many times before, it got to the point that when he heard Mike say tutorial he kind of zoned out.

In the middle of the forest stood about 10 trees, all of them having a slight bend with sap leaking out towards the angled side, honestly even though Oliver knew it was here he searched for hours, looking every tree in a 100 meter radius for the slightest of bends and sap.

"No wonder this thing never got found god damn."

All of those trees pointed to a singular tree in the middle, there was nothing special about this one except the hole that was carved out in the top, but if this was the only thing you were going by you would have never found it, as about 50 trees around it had similar holes, all just looking like animal shelters.

Quickly climbing the tree Oliver started rummaging around in the hole, getting even more surprised to how Mike ever managed to find it. He knew it was here for gods sake, and he still could barely find the small wooden box after 10 minutes of searching.

Taking out the small wooden box Oliver opened it with anticipation, a small glass bottle with only 1 singular drop of multi-coloured vibrant liquid floating quietly within it.

As an alchemist Oliver could barely keep his cool as he instantly inspected the item.
