"I can't fix it. What's done is done," Revina said, her voice calm and cold, as if she had just spoken a simple truth, something unavoidable.

But the rage that surged within me was anything but calm. It twisted in my chest like a feral animal, ready to tear apart anyone in its path. My wolf, Midnight, growled in the back of my mind, pushing me toward the brink.

This stupid witch had played me. Fooled me into thinking she was saving Leslie, only for her to weave her manipulative web around me like I was some gullible fool. The look on her face, so smug and self-assured, made my blood boil.

"It had to be done," she added, her voice soft but resolute, as if her actions had been some necessary evil.

That was the final straw.
