"Back to what we were talking about before, Kaleb… how long have you been able to use mana?"

Rayna pauses, her unanswered questions hanging in the air as she falls silent, while Kaleb shifts uncomfortably, taken off guard by the new focus on him.

"Well… I…. umm… a few months now?"

"How did it happen?"

"It was during a fight, I was taken to some place called the pits."

"And how long have you had an issue with your mana like this?"

"Since the beginning I guess? My body would ache every time I used my mana. Why? Is there a problem?"

Victor shakes his head, his expression serious but not unkind.

"No, it's not. I was just thinking if you had told me about this, we could have avoided the whole situation where you… you know… lost control."

Kaleb raises a brow.

"Well, If you were in the same situation, I'm pretty sure you would have done the same thing. It's not like I could trust some random guy I just met right?"
