Chu Yuxuan looked at the "boundary" of pillows and shook his head gently. "Sleep peacefully."
Zhao Yanan awkwardly climbed into bed, fully dressed.
The room fell silent.
Besides Zhou Xiaoruo, Zhao Yanan had never shared a bed or blanket with anyone else. She tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
Chu Yuxuan turned his face to look at her and said soothingly, "Nanan, why don't you move in with me? We can sleep like this. I promise not to make any advances. It will be good for both of us."

Zhao Yanan was stunned. "He... won't appear anymore?"
Chu Yuxuan smiled but didn't speak.
"Yuxuan," Zhao Yanan said thoughtfully, "Did you really sell arms abroad?"
Chu Yuxuan was silent for a moment before asking, "Are you afraid?"
Zhao Yanan didn't respond immediately. After a pause, she asked, "Was Xue Can... your doing?"
Chu Yuxuan held her hand but didn't answer directly. He said, "Nanan, I'm not a good person. My past is complicated and can't be explained in a few words... But please don't be afraid. And believe me, I'm sincere with you. I swear I won't allow you to be harmed."
Zhao Yanan's expression grew more complex. She could sense that much of what Chu Yuxuan had previously joked about was probably true.
Why did those bad people kidnap him ten years ago? How did the boy, tortured and scarred, survive? What kind of storms had he weathered over those eight years? She didn't dare to imagine.
Yesterday, what Chu Yuxuan had said outside the ward had already proven that the playboy she saw was just an act, and the real Chu Yuxuan was a wolf seeking revenge.
