Amara resisted the urge to bang her head against the wall. Why couldn't things ever be easy? Why couldn't she just have one normal conversation without the system butting in and making her look like a total idiot?

Across the room, Elara stretched, looking like someone who hadn't just woken up in a shared reality show nightmare. Amara watched her, half-resentful and half-impressed that Elara could look remotely functional this early.

Elara caught Amara's stare and quirked an eyebrow. "What's your problem?"

"Nothing," Amara grumbled, rubbing her eyes. "Just trying to figure out how you're not crawling back under the blankets and declaring the day a loss."

Elara smirked. "I'm not the one with a whole existential crisis before 8 AM, am I?"

"Very funny." Amara rolled her eyes, stifling a yawn. "Not everyone's a morning person."
