My eyes stayed fixated on him, the man that even though I said confidently would come for me, I didn't really know if he would. This man, my lover, came, he came for me. 

I wasn't sure when a smile pooled on my face and bubbles of hot tears welled up in my eyes. "Sylus…"

He looked at me, and I saw it soften for a fraction of a second before it dulled the moment he shifted his gaze back to Olive. 

"Let her go." 

"Let her go?" Olive asked. "What do you think this is? A charity event? How the fuck did you even get in here?" 

Sylus didn't answer.
