By 1975, Lee Shiu-kee had amassed a large fortune and founded Henderson Development Limited, which made a series of moves that enabled it to reap huge profits.
He then set his sights on Wing Tai Properties, which had been established in partnership with Wu Po-sing, in order to have Henderson Development listed on the stock exchange.
Within a few years, he had become the largest shareholder. That was how he was able to take the decision to sell his shares in Hong Kong and Yaumati Ferry Company to Xia Yu.
This company was not managed by Wing Tai, and at best it was only the second largest shareholder with no management rights. Since Xia Yu had asked, Li Zhaoji had no choice but to agree.
In the morning, he hadn't cared, thinking that Xia Yu just wanted to dominate the ferry market.
Unexpectedly, what happened at noon made him realise that things were not that simple, and that there must be some unknown dirt between the Zhao family and Xia Yu.
But what did it have to do with him?
Xia Yu had come to him, so why wouldn't he give him face? After all, his relationship with the Zhao family was just so-so, and they weren't in the same faction as him. Even if the Zhao family were to be destroyed by Xia Yu, it would have nothing to do with him.

'This is a 28.7% stake. I'll add a premium of two levels and round it off to 28 million Hong Kong dollars. What do you think?'
