章節 530: Chapter 530: Displaying Great Power

The next day, Xia Yu was surprised to find that the venue for the dinner invitation from Elena and her brother was not a luxurious city hotel, but an indoor garden restaurant. As soon as he entered, he felt a tranquil and elegant ambiance, and his mood relaxed unknowingly.

Outside the restaurant's glass walls, there was a vast expanse of green grass, a small pavilion, and a flower bed, making for a pleasant environment.

As soon as they sat down in the restaurant, Henry couldn't sit still. He kept talking to Li Wuming, though Xia Yu couldn't hear clearly from a distance, it was evident he wanted to learn martial arts.

Seeing this, Elena gave Xia Yu an apologetic smile and explained, "Xia Yu, I'm sorry. My brother has always been like this. Ever since he saw Bruce Lee's movies as a child, he's wanted to learn Chinese martial arts. He even begged my father to find someone to teach him, but unfortunately, we couldn't find anyone."

"After Bruce Lee passed away, he was very sad for a long time. Since we couldn't find anyone to teach him, he stopped begging my father. I was also surprised that he still remembered it all these years."

Xia Yu smiled lightly and said, "There's no need to apologize. Actually, it's a good thing that Henry likes martial arts. Practicing martial arts for a long time is beneficial for health. I've been practicing for a year and am very energetic, and I haven't been ill."

Elena's eyes brightened slightly, and she looked at Xia Yu with curiosity, asking, "Is it really that miraculous?"

"Of course. I never lie to beautiful girls!"

Xia Yu gazed into Elena's eyes with a gentle smile.

Xia Yu's indirect compliment made Elena feel happy, and she smiled warmly, "I think your mouth might be coated with honey!"

"Haha…"

Xia Yu couldn't help but laugh.

Elena also smiled faintly and felt curious about Xia Yu.

Over the years, she had heard countless flattering and affectionate words from many outstanding men pursuing her. She was already quite used to them.

However, Xia Yu was probably the first Asian boy to compliment her in such a way. Additionally, Elena had been deeply impressed by Xia Yu's piano performance, so his sincere praise made her slightly pleased.

At this moment, Henry, who seemed to have received no satisfaction from Li Wuming, returned with a slightly disappointed expression and sat next to his sister, Elena.

However, Henry knew that Li Wuming was Xia Yu's bodyguard. Even if Li Wuming didn't pay attention to him, if Xia Yu spoke, Li Wuming might still be willing to teach him.

So his enthusiasm surged again, and he eagerly asked Xia Yu, "Xia Yu, can you let your bodyguard teach me Chinese martial arts?"

Considering Henry's background, Xia Yu's thoughts shifted. He noticed Elena's slightly troubled expression and said to Henry, "Henry, actually learning Chinese martial arts is very demanding. We have a saying in China, 'One minute on stage, ten years off stage,' which means that the time you see someone perform on stage is often only one minute, but they may have spent ten years of hard work for that one minute."

"Moreover, to practice martial arts well, you must start training at six in the morning!"

Henry was stunned upon hearing this. But thinking about how impressive Li Wuming had been, his enthusiasm reignited.

Henry said to Xia Yu, "Xia Yu, you shouldn't underestimate me. My father has taught me to endure hardship from a young age. I'm not afraid of hard work!"

Seeing his brother speak this way and noticing Xia Yu seemed to be softening, Elena felt uneasy but couldn't bear to stop her brother from pursuing his passion for Chinese martial arts, so she just watched with a smile.

"Alright, Henry, since you want to learn, I can let Li Wuming teach you some martial arts."

Xia Yu pondered for a moment and suddenly said.

Henry was taken aback by Xia Yu's agreement. He stood up in surprise and exclaimed, "Really? You agreed to it?"

"Of course!"

Xia Yu nodded with a smile.

Henry was ecstatic, jumping up with his fists clenched and shouting, "Incredible, I succeeded! I'm going to learn martial arts!"

Elena was genuinely happy to see her brother so excited. She gave Xia Yu a grateful look and said softly, "Thank you!"

Once Henry had calmed down a bit, Xia Yu said, "Henry, Chinese martial arts come in many forms. Bruce Lee practiced Wing Chun and his own Jeet Kune Do. Do you want to learn Wing Chun or something else?"

Although Li Wuming specialized in Xing Yi Quan, he was exceptionally talented and had fought many martial arts masters, so he knew some Wing Chun and could teach Henry sufficiently.

As for teaching the deeper aspects of traditional martial arts, Xia Yu would not let Li Wuming pass on such knowledge to Henry easily, and even if he did, Li Wuming would likely be reluctant, considering Henry was a foreigner.

However, teaching just the basics was far better than the fake martial artists of later times and would be enough for Henry to learn.

Upon hearing this, Henry's eyes widened as he blurted out, "I know Chinese martial arts include Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Bagua, and Xing Yi Quan. Does Mr. Li know all of these?"

Xia Yu smiled and nodded, "He knows all of them. You can learn Wing Chun if you like, but I suggest Tai Chi since that's what I practice."

"Tai Chi?"

Henry frowned and said hesitantly, "But I see old people practicing Tai Chi in the park. It looks slow and not very impressive!"

"But Xia Yu, you were so amazing before. Do you really practice Tai Chi?"

Henry suddenly recalled Xia Yu's previous display of skill and became self-doubtful, asking with confusion.

Xia Yu laughed and said, "Henry, Chinese martial arts are diverse. There is no absolute best martial art; it's the individual that matters. As long as you practice deeply, every martial art can be very powerful."

This explanation made Henry even more conflicted. His admiration for Bruce Lee made him want to practice Wing Chun, but Xia Yu suggested Tai Chi. Xia Yu, being a Chinese, surely knew more about it, so Henry didn't know how to choose.

After some hesitation, Henry looked at Xia Yu with anticipation and asked, "Can I see what Tai Chi and Wing Chun look like? Could Mr. Li demonstrate them?"

"Of course!"

Xia Yu agreed and said to Li Wuming, "Brother Li, could you please demonstrate?"

Li Wuming had been listening throughout and understood that Xia Yu wanted him to teach only the basics and not the traditional knowledge. He didn't mind.

Moreover, knowing that Henry was the son of the Duke of Howard and establishing a good relationship with him would greatly benefit his boss, Li Wuming was naturally willing to help.

Li Wuming thought for a moment and suggested to Xia Yu, "Boss, it's hard to see much from just the punches. Since we lack props, why don't we have Ah Ming and the other bodyguards join in? I'll be careful."

Xia Yu immediately understood Li Wuming's intention and agreed with his idea. He nodded slightly and said to Henry and Elena, "Elena, Henry, Brother Li suggests that to show the effect, we could let my other bodyguards and your bodyguards join in. Don't worry; he will be careful."

"Really?"

"Will he fight against seven people? My bodyguards are very skilled!"

Henry's eyes widened in disbelief. However, seeing Li Wuming nod, he became excited and quickly agreed, "Sure, sure!"

"Uncle Anderson, can you and the others join in to attack him?"

The four bodyguards who had been quietly sitting nearby darkened in expression, but since it was their young master speaking, they had to suppress their feelings. However, they were furious at Li Wuming's dismissiveness.

This Chinese man is too arrogant!

"Don't worry, Elena, nothing will happen."

Xia Yu reassured Elena, who looked worried, with a smile.

Upon hearing Xia Yu's words and seeing her brother's extreme excitement and pursuit of his dream, Elena decided to let her brother have his way.

Soon, Elena's four bodyguards, as well as Xia Yu's other three bodyguards, along with Li Wuming, all moved to the outdoor lawn. Xia Yu, Elena, and Henry followed and stood aside.

Under Henry's expectant gaze, Li Wuming began by demonstrating the Wing Chun starting stance.

Xia Yu introduced from the side, "He's using Wing Chun now. Henry, pay close attention!"

"Okay!"

Hearing that it was the same as Bruce Lee's martial arts, Henry was excited and stared at Li Wuming, not wanting to miss a single detail.

Suddenly, the burly man named Anderson stepped forward with a fierce stance and attacked Li Wuming, while the others launched their attacks simultaneously.

However, Li Wuming displayed the demeanor of a middle-aged martial arts master. Even though he was holding back, his fierce moves struck at the seven attackers.

Li Wuming didn't get hit even once but managed to knock down others from time to time. The dazzling fight left Henry transfixed, his face flushed with excitement.

Even Elena, who had never seen Li Wuming in action before, widened her beautiful eyes and gasped in disbelief.

"Now, we'll switch to Tai Chi!"

As Li Wuming changed his movements, Xia Yu reminded Henry.

Then, Li Wuming demonstrated what it meant to use softness to overcome hardness and leverage strength.

Though Tai Chi seemed soft and slow, it was impressive when performed with speed.

The seven people were played with like clowns by Li Wuming. Their fierce attacks were easily neutralized and

then they were thrown out by Li Wuming's use of leverage.

Soon, all seven were lying on the ground, while Li Wuming stood calmly in the center, displaying the demeanor of a grandmaster.

Li Wuming was originally a martial arts enthusiast with exceptional talent. When he served as Xia Yu's bodyguard, Li Chunqiu said he was on the verge of breaking through to the grandmaster level. During his time with Xia Yu, he had long since achieved this.

Xia Yu once asked Li Wuming how advanced his skills were. Li Wuming calmly said he was invincible in Hong Kong, and even several elderly grandmasters were no match for him. Xia Yu was shocked for days.

Later, Li Wuming even fought Yan Shining. Although Yan Shining had initially been evenly matched, he was defeated after fifty moves.

It was due to Li Wuming's formidable strength that Xia Yu was reassured to bring him along on trips.

"Gulp!"

Seeing Li Wuming take down everyone one by one, Henry couldn't help but swallow and then excitedly exclaimed.

"Xia Yu, both martial arts are amazing. Wing Chun is fierce, but Tai Chi is also powerful. Mr. Li is incredible!"

"Xia Yu, is this Chinese martial arts? It's unbelievable!"

Elena's eyes were also filled with shock. She asked Xia Yu dreamily, "I've seen how powerful my own bodyguards are, but I didn't expect that with four of them joining in, plus your three bodyguards, Mr. Li could defeat all seven of them in such a short time. This is beyond my imagination."

At this moment, Xia Yu seemed to be veiled in a layer of mystery in Elena's eyes, possessing such an extraordinary bodyguard.

Meanwhile, Anderson and the others, having stood up and moved their limbs, found only some muscle soreness but no other issues. They also knew that Li Wuming had shown mercy.
