A series of sirens interrupted the tranquility of the outdoors, causing everyone in the house to change their expressions.
"Boss, it's the police!"
Hou Sheng, standing behind Xia Yu, said with a sharp gaze and a low voice.
"Mm!"
Xia Yu furrowed his brows and nodded in response, his expression somewhat absent as if deep in thought.
"The police are here. The plan failed. Withdraw quickly!"
The leader among the black-clad intruders, who was fighting with Li Wuming, shouted in English, signaling everyone to rush outside.
"Catch a few of them!"
Seeing the enemy trying to escape, even those lying on the ground struggled to get up and run outside. Yan Shining shouted at Li Wuming.
Li Wuming did not respond but his actions showed his decision. He suddenly grabbed two black-clad men trying to flee, knocked them down with a sweeping kick, and then restrained them.
The other black-clad figures, seeing Yan Shining abandoning the stair guard to come over, immediately gave up on rescuing their comrades and ran outside, disappearing into the trees.
Yan Shining did not pursue but instead helped Li Wuming subdue the captured intruders.
Xia Yu was about to go downstairs when he heard footsteps behind him. He knew it was Li Qian waking up.
Turning around, he saw Li Qian, dressed neatly, coming over with a nervous expression and asking, "Xia Yu, what happened? Is everything alright?"
"Don't worry. Stay here. I'll go check it out."
"Hou Sheng, protect Li Qian's safety!"
Xia Yu instructed Hou Sheng.
"Yes!"
Hou Sheng responded loudly.
Xia Yu then stepped down the stairs.
When Xia Yu reached the ground, he heard the sound of cars turning off outside. Immediately after, a series of footsteps approached. Xia Yu turned on the headlights and saw several British police officers in uniform, armed with pistols, entering. The leader was a large man with a beard.
"Raise your hands!"
Seeing the guns pointed at them, Xia Yu frowned and said, "Officer, those in black are the intruders."
After assessing the scene, the bearded officer, Officer Barrow, gave an apologetic smile, which looked a bit eerie on his face.
"Good evening, sir. We were chasing a vicious criminal gang. We just received intelligence that this gang was active nearby. We didn't expect to arrive too late. We are very sorry!"
As Officer Barrow spoke, four more officers came from behind him and took away the two subdued black-clad men. Seeing this, Xia Yu's expression became more thoughtful.
"Thank you, Officer Barrow, for coming. You scared the others away. Otherwise, we really wouldn't know what danger we might face."
Xia Yu said with a grateful smile.
"Sir, thank you for helping us subdue these two criminals. Also, we need to understand the specific situation. Please cooperate with us and accompany us to the police station for a statement."
"Can't we do it on site?"

Xia Yu said calmly.
He didn't want to go, but seeing that each police officer was armed with a gun, it was likely he would be forcibly taken for a statement, so it was better to go along and see what was happening.
To prevent the fleeing intruders from returning, he specifically asked Yan Shining to stay and protect Li Qian.

In the manor, only Yan Shining, Li Qian, and Hou Sheng remained, with worried expressions.
"Will Xia Yu be in danger?"
Li Qian asked anxiously.

Yan Shining said with a smile, trying to reassure her, but once again looked towards the direction the police car had left, with a hint of concern in his eyes.

In a police car, Xia Yu sat in the middle of the back seat, with Li Wuming on his right and another police officer squeezed in on his left. Looking out through the car window at the pitch-black night, Xia Yu was deep in thought.
"Boss, something is wrong!"
Li Wuming whispered in Chinese to Xia Yu.
"I noticed it too."
Xia Yu whispered back, maintaining his composure.
Since getting into the police car, he had been reflecting on the night's events, growing more suspicious of the coincidences.
Moreover, the police car had its siren blaring, as if afraid the enemy wouldn't know the police were coming.
Xia Yu had sensed something unusual even while in the manor. The police, instead of chasing the escaping criminals, captured only two people and wanted him to make a statement.
However, surrounded by armed officers, Xia Yu had no choice but to agree to go with them, worried that even if Li Wuming and Yan Shining were skilled, they wouldn't be able to match bullets in a confrontation.
As he saw the police car's route leading to increasingly remote areas, his heart sank.
He might be in serious trouble!
"Boss, what should we do?"
"Do you have confidence?"

The police officer sitting next to Xia Yu asked.

Xia Yu shrugged helplessly.

The officer showed a slight, pitying smile, which, to Xia Yu, seemed somewhat meaningful, deepening his suspicions.
Xia Yu lowered his head, contemplating who might be plotting against him, wanting to take him away without harming him. What could their goal be?
At that moment, the car braked and came to a stop. Xia Yu immediately focused intently, and Li Wuming also tensed, ready to respond.
"Sir, we have arrived. Please get out of the car!"
"Make your move!"
As the officer spoke, Xia Yu ordered and, with one hand pressing down on the officer's hand on his gun holster, threw a punch at his nose.
Li Wuming acted even faster, leaping up and grabbing the throats of the two officers in front before they could react. With the sound of breaking bones, the two officers went limp.
Then, Li Wuming delivered a punch to the throat of the officer beside Xia Yu, who's eyes widened in shock before he fell silent.
All this happened within two seconds, before the police in the other cars had even disembarked.
Next, Xia Yu took out the guns from the officers' holsters and handed one to Li Wuming, who said, "Take care," before opening the car door and charging out, closing the door behind him.
Xia Yu wasted no time, reaching into the front seats to grab two guns, disengaging the safeties, and staying alert for any sudden events.
As Li Wuming went outside, people finally noticed the situation and began drawing their guns, but they were not as quick as Li Wuming, who started shooting.
Li Wuming was highly skilled with firearms, having trained in this area despite his focus on martial arts. Knowing that in this era, distance makes a big difference, he trained in firearms as well.
With his refined skills, his reactions and senses were superior, and his shooting accuracy was precise, taking down opponents efficiently.
Seeing Li Wuming shooting, the other officers in police uniforms quickly got out from the other side of the car, using it as cover.

Then, Xia Yu followed Li Wuming's lead, running towards the two people who were now writhing on the ground.
Seeing one of them, Xia Yu recognized them immediately and said, "So it's you!"
