The next day, Xia Yu smiled and nodded, standing up and looking at Hou Sheng. "You don't need to go through an interview. You're hired directly. Since Yan Shining is here, and he's your old squad leader, you'll report to him once you start."
"Why are you standing there like a fool? Thank the boss!"
Seeing Hou Sheng in a daze, Yan Shining walked over and kicked him lightly in the shin to wake him up.

Hou Sheng hadn't expected to join Jiuding Newspaper Company so easily and get a high salary. Meeting Yan Shining again and becoming his subordinate once more left him feeling somewhat bewildered.
"Boss, besides Hou Sheng, there are four others still working at the dock. They're all very capable. Should we consider them as well?" Yan Shining asked again.
Yan Shining knew Xia Yu was in dire need of security personnel and had been troubled by security issues. This was a great opportunity because Li Quan and the others were undoubtedly skilled. With Yan Shining's endorsement, Xia Yu would be safer.
When Hou Sheng appeared, Yan Shining thought of this possibility. That's why he had been asking Hou Sheng detailed questions to ensure they were suitable for the job.
Upon hearing Yan Shining's words, Hou Sheng looked at Xia Yu with hope, eager for approval. He wanted Li Quan and the others to join too.

"Boss, they're at Kowloon City Dock, probably still working," Hou Sheng replied, noting Xia Yu's serious look.
Despite his burly appearance, Hou Sheng was quick to adapt. He had no hesitation in calling Xia Yu "boss" now.
Seeing Yan Shining's questioning gaze, Xia Yu hesitated briefly but decided there was nothing more pressing. He said, "Let's go now. If they're suitable, we'll hire them directly. We shouldn't waste their talent on hard labor."
"Okay, boss!"
Xia Yu, Yan Shining, and Hou Sheng then left the company and got into a car. Hou Sheng sat in the passenger seat, guiding them to Kowloon City Dock.
Soon, following Hou Sheng's directions, the car stopped at a spot on the dock.
When a luxury car arrived at the dirty, chaotic dock, it naturally drew the attention of the workers.
Many were shocked to see Hou Sheng get out of the luxury car, as they had known him for five years and were surprised by the stark contrast.
Seeing their reactions, Hou Sheng puffed up his chest with a sense of pride. From now on, he would leave behind the hard life and, with his old squad leader being the boss's bodyguard, felt even more confident.
"Quan Ge, come over quickly and see who's here!" Hou Sheng called out to Li Quan from a distance, eager to see their reaction.
Li Quan and the others immediately dropped their loads and hurried towards Hou Sheng.
Before they reached them, they saw Xia Yu and Yan Shining getting out of the car.
They didn't recognize Xia Yu but were stunned to see Yan Shining.
However, recognizing the smiles on Hou Sheng and Yan Shining's faces, they confirmed their guess and rushed over.
"Squad Leader, is that you?"
"Houzi, why are you here with the squad leader? Aren't you applying for the security position?"

The group asked questions eagerly as Li Quan and the others gathered around Yan Shining, hugging him tightly.
Watching the scene and feeling the strong camaraderie in the air, Xia Yu smiled faintly, leaning against the car door and observing.
After a while, Yan Shining introduced Li Quan and the others to Xia Yu. "This is my boss, Mr. Xia. I'm now his bodyguard!"
"Jiuding Newspaper Company is owned by my boss, and he has agreed to let Hou Sheng join the company."
"Since you're Yan Shining's old subordinates, I trust your abilities. You can join the company directly and will continue to report to him. How does that sound?" Xia Yu said, looking at Li Quan and the others.
Li Quan and the others were thrilled and nodded vigorously, their eyes full of gratitude.
"Thank you, boss!"
However, seeing the envious looks from the others behind them, Li Quan hesitated but was quickly interrupted by one of his colleagues.
"Boss, are you hiring more people? We work with Quan Ge and although we might not be as capable, we are hardworking and honest."
The person spoke with hopeful eyes.
"Who are they?" Xia Yu asked Li Quan.
"Boss, they're our fellow workers who joined us over the years. We stuck together because it's competitive at the dock and fewer people make us easier targets. They're all strong and honest. We haven't taken in any petty or dishonest people," Li Quan quickly explained, wanting to help his friends.
While Yan Shining's group was already set to join, he hoped the rest of the group would get a chance too. With Li Quan and the others gone, their small group might struggle against others, making their lives harder.
"How many are there in total?" Xia Yu asked.
"Besides the five of us, there are exactly twenty more," Li Quan answered promptly.
Surveying their eager faces, Xia Yu asked, "Do you all want to join the company?"
"Yes!" They answered eagerly.
They weren't worried about being deceived, as they knew Li Quan and the others had a good relationship with Yan Shining. They also knew that joining Jiuding Newspaper Company meant higher wages and better prospects, so they were excited about the opportunity.
"Alright, you'll all join the security department. Come to the company later to complete the formalities. As long as you're honest and diligent, I won't fire you."
"Thank you, boss!" The group cheered and rejoiced.

"Boss, are you still hiring? We're not bad either!"
Seeing what had happened, some people nearby quickly approached, hopeful for a chance.
Unfortunately, Xia Yu didn't relent this time. He had already hired twenty-five people, including five veterans, which met the company's current security needs and even exceeded them.
Xia Yu wasn't concerned about the extra cost. He knew where to save and where not to. Ensuring good security was crucial to avoid losses and give him peace of mind. It was a good investment.
Afterward, Xia Yu and Yan Shining returned to the company while Hou Sheng led the others to Jiuding Newspaper Company.
Upon returning, Xia Yu arranged for the new hires and halted external recruitment. He established a new security department, appointing Yan Shining as the head and concurrently his bodyguard.
Since Yan Shining would be busy with Xia Yu, he suggested Li Quan, the most capable, as deputy head, with Hou Sheng, Zhang Zhi, Wu Dashan, and Du Ming as team leaders, each managing a team of five.
By the end of the day, everything was set up.
With the security department established, Xia Yu felt more at ease.
The next step was for Yan Shining and his team to quickly improve the department's effectiveness, ensuring better protection for Xia Yu's safety and assets.
